Gotta love STG :) 2500 dollars seems pretty reasonable for a through-hole beast with normalisation. It's got that vintage tone while sounding pristine and hifi, nice!
Had more fun in 7 minutes watching this than i have in 22 years with my wife. 🥁 Great demo and aesthetic. Walnut is a nice choice instead of the plain ass poplar, oak or synthetics.
I heard one of these in person at Knobcon last year. Probably one of the most beautiful looking and beautiful sounding synths I've ever encountered. $2500 is a bargain.
He says on the website that he should charge $4000 for the amount of work he does but that $2500 is a better price. And you can’t find a TVS on Reverb for under $12,000…

This looks and sounds amazing! My 2 biggest problems are i don’t have enough room for one and I just spent a lot of money on vet bills for my cat. I think it’s time he got a job!

2500 even 3000 is a steal for this if it's made to Suit and Tie Guys standards. The Walnut is a beautiful choice, but unlike the facade of the 70s it's not plastic trim so it wont break and crumble to dust. This thing isn't chirpy or bubbly sounding it just has bite.
I reflexively feel STG needs to dial the improved persona down a bit. But, there's no way I won't remember the man. LOL! And, hey. The thing is remarkably classic, it sounds _very_ good, and there's no insensitive, nihilistic conglomerate looming over every decision.
Should the "Vanilla" get the starring role in "The Synthesist" ( -our upcoming sci-fi thriller )? We've been looking for a great sounding "photogenic" synth to serve as our key storyline "prop". The synth we select will get lots of screen time and be responsible for most of the movie's SFX and sound score ( -so a great "demo" of what the machine is capable of ). So, synth freaks -weigh in: Is STG's "Vanilla" the ONE?

It is built on phenomenal genetics! This thing is one of the most beautiful synths ever made. I would rather have walnuts than pretty synths but cannot knock the guy for having high standards for materials. At least what this fella is charging is actually WORTH it.
I gotta say, I've moved many things into SMD from through hole and nothing ever sounded worse, it only sounded the same or better. I think it's the engineer not the assembly technology.
Nice module but the price is $25,000 for that money I can get many synthesizers I just purchase the berhinger deepmind 12 for $800 , a monster highly recommended
