What a shame you can't load KK Patches, I did some really great Sounds for it. Looks like Korg now have all the Synth Engines they need for a Kronos 3. I am interested, but too much £/$ for a small form factor if I'm honest.
it sounds really good, but 1k?? this seems massively overpriced. that's a $600 synth. and the microkorg 2 is a $400 synth. Damn Korg, y'all are trippin'
Hopefully the "step up" in build quality includes the keyboard, because the OpSix and ModWaves I played...they just really didn't cut it. The keyboards felt extremely cheap.
This is a strange one… the most attractive things about the old one to me were its large size and playability with the XY joystick well-located. And the real tube was a nice USP which is lacking here.
I call bullshit on the patches not being compatible. Yes some will be incompatible because of different oscillators, but many using common oscillators should be identical.
It seems to me that Korg, Roland and Yamaha are in a panic streak, because they no longer have the respect from musicians they used to have and in that panic they make poor product decisions and even worse price decisions. After the joke prices of the Wavestate SE / Opsix SE / Modwave SE, now this.. And down the drain they'll go. They really should have listened to what the people were asking from them all these years. Oh, how the mighty fall.. Now they have become 2nd rate toy makers. Especially Korg. Such a pity..
