As a lover of world cinema I say .. Nagesh is one of the finest actors in the world. Look at his effortless acting, Kamal looks pale before him. Sivaji while a great actor would have added unnecessary melodrama by thrusting a cloth in his mouth and moving his eyes and mouth with myriad emotions. Nagesh deservedly won the national award abd this is economy of expression 🙏

I thought Nagesh sir only as comedian, but he rocked in Server Sundaram, Ethirneechal type of movies, outperformed legendary Sivaji ganesan in Thiruvilayaadal scene and same in Nammavar. What a monsterous performance. Especially the scene when he keeps pillow under the body it was so tearful.

Such great acting like this has oftenly been forgotten or left to be unknown, Nagesh sir acting for this movie is truy OSCAR worthy. so sad that such legends can come up with such masterclass performances that were not rightfullly rewarded or recognized.
I'm sure that that Nagesh has surpassed Kamal's extraordinary acting skills and this clip shows the beautiful acting skills of everyone from Senthil to Gautami. K Balachander loved Nagesh acting and Kamal has always praised Nagesh as an extraordinary actor. It is one thing to act good but to recognize another actor's skill is the most difficult and long-term talent that Kamal and his mentor K Balachander had.
What a movie.. what acting!! Such movies were quite ahead as of time and so were so underrated. If released now.., it would bag so many national awards. And Nagesh sir.., chance e Illa… evallavu urukkama irrukku and that daughter character is none other than ‘Brindha’ dance master. As always.., masterpiece from the genius ‘Aandavar’..
