They actually do have english lessons. The members always say that in bubble. But Sana once said in bubble that the teacher doesn't teach them properly like if one member got it, that's it. That's why some really just teach themselves as the lesson somehow doesn't help them.

Nayeon also mentioned in bubble and other VLIVES that she and the other members are studying English. I think they take more Japanese lessons because they've been promoting in Japan. (including the Japanese members they're learning the Tokyo dialect)

I think part of it is that Itzy's members might have had better English skills when they first became trainees and when they debuted that the Twice members did and Lia is pretty much fluent in English, which helps the other members learn it. It could be too that JYP was pushing the trainees that would become Itzy to focus on English as they were planning the group to have a music style that would be more marketable in the west. Therefore trainees knew to take their English classes in school or with tutors at JYP much more seriously as it could mean the difference between making the group or being passed over.

Maybe not 😂 if you saw the NAMOSA speak Japanese video they told her to pretend to speak broken Korean and she said she’s too smart to act dumb. I don’t think she would hide her fluency 😂 she would more likely be the group’s English spokesperson already. she is learning fast though she may be fluent now lol
