OMUGULUGWOMBASHE - Founding President Sam Nujoma on Monday said embarking on an armed struggle 47 years ago in efforts to liberate Namibia from South African rule was not easy.
Nujoma was at the helm of the liberation struggle, which started at Omugulugwombashe in the Omusati Region on 26 August 1966.
Thousands of Namibian sons and daughters shed their precious blood and sacrificed their lives for our freedom, he said while speaking here.
A statue of Nujoma was unveiled by President Hifikepunye Pohamba at Omugulugwombashe.
