I am with you. Maybe people should just watch the 1995 mini series and skip this trash. This seems to be a VERY loose adaptation of the Edith Wharton novel. Yikes. I started to watch and I don't understand why they have to kill everything with today's culture, etc. The novel itself was set in the 1870's. It's like we can no longer stand any culture.

I'm not going to pretend like I understand. there are so many facets to aesthetics. I've been called ugly all my life to the point of isolation .but there are rock stars who have been called ugly ,but they are rock stars. there are pageant winners who still get plastic surgery .this is a nasty world. for me saying somebody is stunning ,looking like a normal girl is kind of ,beyond my pay grade of understanding .to me it's already established she's stunning no matter what she tries to look like in this show .she doesn't look normal to me. what a wonderful thing is eye of the beholder. that really is something. cuz I have discovered .and then there's more .it's funny that all the main American girls in this show are not really American .at best maybe some dual citizenship. anyway what's detestable are people who call other people ugly ,if they have gotten called ugly themselves .or people who have never been called ugly who called other people ugly . ugliness from inside really is a thing and more impactful and shows up on the outside .and then there are those people who slap you when they are called Beautiful by you.

I WAS JUST SAYING THIS. She is SO BEAUTIFUL but in the way that like a normal person is sooo pretty… I don’t know if it’s the character too but it feels like attainable beauty. Like other shows I can’t connect as well with the characters because I don’t feel like I’m as much like them. But she feels real and authentic and she doesn’t not look like me yk.

Theo new Nan and Guy loved each other. He can see it and feel it when Nan and Guy are together . Cone on, ... Yet, He stil wanted to married her despite reading the telegram, her not sure she wants to marry him. He stated this is not how he shoukd feel before hos wedding. I like Theo, but he's not innocent with this eother.

@@user-gi4hq6kz7b theo only knew Guy loved Nan bc of the telegram, even though he suspected Nan loved him as well he asked her immediately if it was true. But Nan explicitly said she loved Theo , therefore played with his feelings. They both betrayed Theo the day before the wedding and it was very fucked up thing to do. I hate how awful Nan has become.

​@@hereforthelove95Nan and Guy would have left with Jenny, but Theo's mom is the one that convinced them to make that decision. Theo mom chose the institution instead of being his mom. They both loved each other deeply and didn't want to admit it because they didn't want to hurt Theo, but they couldn't not tell each other how they truly felt. So in that moment I don't think they would have thought they would have given into each other. Nan had until the morning to tell Theo, so they weren't betraying him. In fact Nan told Jenny she would tell Theo in the morning, but it got spoiled because James caught them and in turn (James beat it out of Jenny) told the Duchess and they got caught. Theo mom then came up with that plan because the institution comes first.

@@hereforthelove95That’s not true. Nan never told Theo he loved him. In fact, she didn’t accept his proposal when he first ask. He told her to take time to think about it. Do you mean Theo asked Nan if she was in loved with Guy not 1 but 2 times. Nan didn’t answer the first time but she denied it the second time. Nan truly care deeply for Theo and didn’t want to hurt him. So she denied it. Nan mom even saw she was in love with Guy by her reaction when she saw Guy and how they looked at each other. Ask yourself the question, would you want her not to choose the individual she’s in love with? It’s her choice not Theo or his mom, but it got pull from underneath her bc she made the ultimate sacrifice for her sister, which is true love in my book. She married Theo because of her sister. Guy gave up/sacrifice, his true love also for Nan sister which in my book is mugging true love.

I totally understand. I at first really enjoyed Nan the first few episodes but throughout the season she became increasingly unbearable. I understand her feeling betrayed but her ability to blame everyone about her not telling Theo was so annoying. The entitlement she felt even after Theo found out and her trying to be the victim just UGH made my skin itch.

by the end of the season, I actually began rooting for Conchita and Richard the most even though at the beginning I thought she was the most annoying.

@@Jamierice139 I like Guy and Nan together BUT the whole back and fourth was so annoying. Of course it’s the plot of the show and of course I watched it through but GOODNESS GIRL IF YOU DONT JUST PICK A GUY AND STICK WITH IT. Again I can understand the pressure but it was the blaming she did throughout the season on those who in my opinion did not deserve the blame. Mainly how she treated Patti and Theo when he found out and accepted her lineage.

So wrong on so much level. Their story is a love story.. You can’t help who you fall in love with. I’m not sure what show you was watching, but we’re all entitled to our options.
