I mean obviously he's better now than he ever was in his prime; but people still say shit like that cus his grip is also now worse than it ever was (top left, which I don't think ever existed in the past), so there are also scores in his prime that he struggles to replicate nowadays (like daisuke and yomi yori hr; the last time he tried em on stream at least)
@@hounsimo3296 in my opinion he is way better now, its just that he doesn't care about the game as much as he did before, so doesn't bother with pp. If you actually watch his streams and see what kind of maps he plays lmao, theyre all really hard tech maps or insane streaming which don't offer much pp. He's still at least top 10 in terms of all rounded/overall skills
Love plays like these, they are what made me love Shige’s plays all the way back in 2015,2016,2017. Sheer and utter dominance over a maps leaderboard, no questions asked.
@@gus9351 Not really, after having played so long, more than 10 years, in fact. Most people would've hit their peak and be stuck at improving. Take www for example. Shige, after 13 years of playing is still keeping up with the current best players and pushing his limits
@@gus9351 nah the musculature decay with age (from the prime of 18-20-ish) is real, though it only really shows for people who compete on the absolute edge like top contenders in any competitive field. Either he never went all out before, or never really trained as he does now, or is just so bloody talented that even with a suboptimal body he's clapping the game's cheeks lmao
@@sid6645 this man literally spent 12+ years optimizing his playstyle, even if your raw speed starts to decrease at around 24/25 he is continuously improving on all other fronts. I don't think its just about his talent here x)
I know that he still had the attitude and mentality from the experience of holding the number 1 in every rank metric, but I didn't know he could still improve and pull it after years. GG Shige edit: typo
a few months ago shige was discussing with chat why he didn’t farm and try to gain ranks. he responded that whenever he had decided he wanted rank one, he had been able to get it within 6 months. he didn’t want to because he had already shown he was the best. biggest chad response ever.
@@justinmaheelzay9650 i don't think he ever mentioned the 6 months thinggy before he did mention that he was ranked 1 in every ranking so what's the point of doing it over again also his skillset isn't favourable in the current system, so he really can't do anything to compete with it's not like he can't but he doesn't have the tools to execute that (a.k.a alot of farm maps) let's just face it, the rankings favor quantity over quality
We're looking at a player who's a player who has been taking many breaks, and has been #1 since the earliest of the earliest days and he's still rocking it, being in the top 30.
@@pill5117 yes, but there are more people capable of doing revolutionary etude than Rubik’s cube, and also “jumps” skill set is far more common among players than whatever rubiks is
@@edddie7563 It is more like a combination of both. I look at it like this, basic flow aim has consistent velocity and direction, flow aim is how "flowy" your aim can be. The more "flowy" it is, the more flexible your aim can be. Normal flow aim consistent velocity but changes direction this requires a bit of aim control. Advanced flow aim changes velocity and direction mutliple times in one stream. This Rubiks cube, quck changes in direction and flow aim velocity Basically a death sentence if you are inexperienced with aim control which is required to consistently hit the changes in flow aim velocity.
I remember around two years ago when I was creaming my undies at Vaxei's play on this. I just love seeing players pull up on these kinds of maps because it takes literally so much skill... and now this shit, with HD. Jeez Shige, I'm wet
