We took Hollu ferry from downtown Vancouver to Nanaimo, a vibrant city nestled on the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Boasting a rich history, stunning waterfront views, and a perfect blend of outdoor adventures and urban charm, Nanaimo is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. From its historic Bastion and Old City Quarter to the scenic Newcastle Island and delectable Nanaimo Bar, this city offers a diverse range of experiences for locals and visitors alike. We took Hollu ferry started at 9:00AM and back to Vancouver started at 7:30PM, it is a short visit and can only explore limited places in Nanaimo and have to leave the missed ones for the next time. It was a fun day-tour to Nanaimo. Nanaimo is a rare city where the seamless blend of untamed nature and modern civilization is truly remarkable.
