Thank you for sharing this treasure! I have not seen many music videos of Nanci and Eric performing together on stage. This is fantastic, thanks again for this.
This performance video of Nanci and Eric together is very moving - I love their music, but not seen this before until today - Can't understand why they weren't superstars - Though they were for me anyway - Thank you for posting
Sadly, most superstars are not nearly as talented as Nanci and Eric. If you're interested in another superstar who never made it, search for Fred Neil videos (writer of Everybody's Talking at Me). I've just finished reading the only biography of Fred, and it's pretty heartbreaking how he started out really wanting to make it, then realized how the business is dominated by bloodsuckers and actively pushed fame away. Died in poverty. Seems like Nanci and Eric walked the integrity tightrope well. You can see how much I miss Nanci by the way I search for her on RU-vid (just came across this gem which is totally new to me ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iB6JL0G_ww8.html). Nanci led me to Eric (the videos of them performing Two Fires and Storm). Now I'm enjoying really listening to Eric on his own.
I had the job (honor) of backing them a few times at the Hole in Austin. They were a great team of seriously poetically songwriters. They both exactly meant what they
Nothing that I've ever seen Now means much of anything In traveling through this part of you And the Vietnam that I had dreamed The place you wore your life "fatigued" I'm traveling through this part of you Where are you amongst this madness On the streets of Saigon? Where were you in 1969? When I was but a youth Oh, here were you You were traveling through this part of you I'll make my way now on my own Back to my home to live alone I have traveled through this part of you Yet, I will save this time and place For the time when I can say I traveled truth this part of you Where are you amongst this madness On the streets of Saigon? Where were you in 1969? When I was but a youth Oh, here were you You were traveling through this part of you You were an American boy Whose innocence was lost here in the wat And I wear your scars While traveling through this part of you Nothing that I've ever seen Now means much of anything In traveling through this part of you And the Vietnam that I had dreameed The place you wore your life "fatigued" I'm traveling through this part of you I'm traveling through this part of you I'm traveling through this part of you Source: Musixmatch Songwriters: Griffith
So beautiful and so painful to see NG and ET sing together. I wish they still aired Mountain Stage on PBS TV - it’s great radio and I love the livestreams when they have them. But it would be wonderful to see this show on PBS here in Minneapolis TPT
@@hadji828 Ah, Nanci is a democrat. No wonder she said in a televised interview that she was so happy that Obama was elected that it helped to clear her long-time mental block.
