WOW this is so Amazing!!! I felt like setting up a smaller village even thogh it’s not Christmas it just makes me Happy nothing compared to this Grand Spectacular village!!! Love it!!! I might be 58 but I’m always young at heart!!!❤❤❤😊😊😊
This is so unbelievably impressive, I am in awe and can barely formulate a thought. My wife and I spend about 15 hours every year building a village. And it's cozy. But it's nothing. What you have built is a metropolis. More important, the level of detail and the thought put into the layout is extraordinary. This is the Hall of Fame right here. The GoAt. Congratulations. I have some work to do.
I saved this video several years ago and when It's time to decorate and I think how much work it will be, I watch the video and say, "Yea, it's worth it". Thank You Nancy!
*"Village"??* *More like a city, LOL! It is just lovely - I want to shrink down into it and walk every nook and cranny :>) Have always loved the warm glow of Christmas village buildings and started to make a collection some years ago. The collection is getting bigger and when our attic is converted, that is where I plan to erect it; though I will stick to the village size, as I can't be taking up too much attic space, lol.* *They are fairly costly and I couldn't believe it when I saw all the boxes being carried in at start of your video...That must have run into thousands!? I usually get them at 50-75% off running up to the Christmas every year in Woodies DIY store, here in Ireland. Because of this, I have been able to purchase extra items each year. I should be able to put together a good size village in the next few years, and I don't mind, as I currently enjoy having them placed around in our living room and kitchen every Christmas.* *Anyway, your CITY is a joy to look at :>)* *Cheers!!*
I just goggle ideas for doing a layout for my department56 village and came across this. I haven't put mind out for a few years and the thought of all the work involved in the set up made me want to back out again but when I saw this I just laughed. I don't have nearly a collection as big as this so I thought if she can do it so can I. I am amazed at how big her village is....that's a lot time and money...that's for sure. I am inspired to keep adding to my collection and improving my presentation. Thanks for sharing your wonderful display. Absolutely beautiful and amazing. Merry Christmas!
This is so unbelievably awesome it should be on display somewhere (behind glass, of course). Thank you for sharing your most impressive village. Many scenes reminded me of my trip to England. Can't wait to show my family.
This is so amazing. I love the time-lapse video that shows the steps in creating this wonderful village. Thank you Nancy and Don for sharing this. I hope that you would consider making another video next year because this one was so enjoyable. I would love to see the village from all angles. If you ever have time to show how you built the supports, that would be great.--- Don, you are very sweet to put in so much work and time to create this Christmas world. This video has given me plenty of ideas for my own village. Thanks
Nancy, this truly awesome! I have watched your video so many times, and each time, I see something new! By far, one of the best Dickens displays EVER made!
Nancy, YOUR EFFORTS are AMAZING! I can SEE why you would want to skip THIS year...after LAST YEAR's masterpiece! I am a HUGE holiday display fan and constructor as well...so I KNOW your enthusiasm for creating a MAGICAL FANTASY WORLD!! ....your display is SO IMPRESSIVE...do you have a neighborhood "open house" for people to see this!? you SHOULD! Keep up your amazing work...and happy holidays to YOU and your family! : ) Scott W. ( San Francisco, CA)
Awesome! We moved a number of years ago and my village pieces are in storage. i put up a small 8 ft display of Alpine and New England for my young granddaughter this year and I see a bigger village happening next year. Your beautiful display gets me to thinking about next year... I have so many buildings that I miss seeing.
A LOT of work! Thanks for posting omg lol!! ...sooo my grandmother has been making me set up her Christmas village for 25 years lol...its not as massive as this but it's about 3/4 this size...i can't wait to show her this, she is 79 years old now lol, she will be so thrilled !
Wow good for you girlfriend! I was diagnosed with hypertension several years ago and now hunting for and assembling my Christmas village is sooo soothing. Hope to post my village someday soon!😊
Don and Nancy, thanks for posting this delightful video. It does bring a smile to my face and joy in my heart. Each year at Christmas, my dad and I would create an HO train display. Mom passed away in 2004 and dad passed in December of 2013. Watching Nancy brings back fond memories of my youth. People could drive by your home and never know the enchanting miniature world that Nancy creates at Christmas. Thanks for sharing something special - your creative aspirations and and dreams! Watching this video certainly brightens up my Christmas 2015, Merry Christmas!
This is absolutely amazing!! I'm at a loss of words, it's just beautiful and so much time it had to take! Every adult and child this is must see for everyone!!
Absolutely incredible collection and effort. Why would Nancy ever take it down. Perfect music background. The cost of this display alone, is staggering. Hope Nancy made the Guinness Book with this.
AWESOME VILLAGE!!!!! I enjoyed it very much. There is a lot of time and effort that went into building this and don't forget about the money. Please tell Nancy that she did an excellent job. Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work.
Wow. I just found a place to put mine this year. It's not very big, but I love making them every year. I actually did leave mine up a whole year a few years back. lol
Absolutely Fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video as well as seeing the end product, thank you guys so much for sharing!! Hope to see more in the future from Mayor Nancy!
WOW I actually sat and watched the whole set up! I have enough to do about one corner section of something like this but its too big for my tiny living room now! I don't think I could stomach the time and heart it would take to put this all together! Thank you for the video....it shows the detail and time you take to make everything right! Probably takes almost as long to take it apart!
Beautiful and so much work !! I do vignettes at the piano, buffet, bookshelves and breakfast room table. It's a lot of work even for smaller spaces. Great job !!!!
amazing, a passion for sure, I too put mine up and down for the holiday. takes me about 2 weeks to put up (now I'm old) and longer to take down but I love it and see you do also. beautiful
I put a 2 by 8 area up every year in the dinning area on top of the hutch. My grandchildren love it. My wife, well she thinks it's clutter ! I find that the 1/32 scale cars look better with the more modern buildings.Love it.Lots of work there.
I presume you've shown this to the folks at D56. I further suspect Nancy (with help) started this with the first introductions of the villages. Fabulous display, and work. Wondering how many duplicate pieces, and separate villages are used ? Incredible !
First of all, thanks for your reply, Don. No duplicates is incredible. I never imagined there were that many pieces and separate villages. I have a comparatively small collection of Dicken's Village, New England Village and Christmas In The City. Every time I visit this video, it's like being a kid at Christmas again. Excellent music backgrounds as well. Merry Christmas to you and Nancy.
Nancy! You go girl!!!! This is massive! I get tons of questions on how long it takes me to put up my villages. Your post describes it all!!!!! Best of luck on 2015!!!
I have a small village, 50 buildings in all. But holy crap, do you give tours. I mean what is the point unless people are paying to see it or something to that effect.
I have no other adjectives that can do this layout justice. I like it very much. I appreciate the time lapse showing how you constructed the platform. I was a little surprised to see you climb on top! I use styrofoam sheets to allow me to drop the cords through the surface, but I really like what you did. I will have to watch again. Great job Nancy and have a great 2015!!!
I think you should do an open house for a small fee. SO many people would love to see this in person. It could be done in a garage so no one has to enter your house apace. I think it would be lovely to see :) So much time and effort must be shared! Just awesome!
