It might just be nostalgia talking but I really love the atmosphere of these games, the dated-ness of the people, and in a weird way I really like how Maddie's house feels like a legit house from like circa 1998. makes me nostalgic for my aunt's house. (also love the cgi heads on the real people bodies in pictures Lmao)
I'm really fond of these early Nancy Drew games. so many great memories of playing them with my mom growing up. I hope he plays treasure in the royal tower and last train to blue moon canyon. Those were the best.
Has he played The Creature of Kapu Cave? that one was interesting, not the best by any means, but it had Its own sort of charm. And Warnings at Waverly Academy was so atmospheric.
@@Bazongaz13 To my knowledge he hasn't played Kapu Cave. I agree it has such charm! Unfortunately, it's one of them I can finish the quickest (which is nice in its own way), but really I love that you get to enjoy more of the Hardy Boys. The canyon one is also really fun!
2:26:30 shout out to thedoppelstream for "If you wish to take a pee, you must answer these questions three. For if you make a small mistake, nary a poop shall you take"
As a long time stream vod watcher, i just wanted to say you did a bang up job of dealing with those chat spoilers this time 😁 i know it bothers you how much it bothers you, so just wanted to congratulate you on a Stirling effort not to get riled by it
Yay a new Nancy Drew Series! I kept watching the character mouths trying to figure out what they reminded me of. The characters remind me of the clay animations from Robot Chicken! 😂
Work is seriously cutting into my stream watching time. Thank you for uploading these! My mom watched Dark Shadows religiously every day after school and I watched Passions every day during Summer break. Amazing shows.
Oh my God! Stay tuned for danger was my favorite growing up! I'm way too excited to watch hours of this here on the vod Edit: since you asked, this is in my top 5. Maybe higher if i add nostalgia points. (Creature of Kapu Cave is also top five and i think of it any time bug hunt is mentioned 😂) This is the game that got me and my sister into Nance, i stuck with Nance way longer and played a ton to get me through college blues. I was so sad that this wasn't one i could get. It taught me a ton of puzzle and critical thinking skills growing up. Especially since not all of the puzzles even make sense so you really have to figure out some strange stuff! I'm so glad this game is getting shown to a wider audience because it was such a huge part of growing up for me. Anyway ramble over!
This is a surprise to see you play this Nancy Drew game, both this and the original first game are pretty hard to get your hands together. Someday I do hope you play some of the other Nancy Drew games like Last Train To Blue Moon Canyon, compared to all the other Nancy Drew games that one actually had the best balance with its game style.
@@SMALLSandJOE yeah same when I was a kid, didn't need to look at a walkthrough for help. the game has a good balance that most people can play the game with not needing much help.
Those creepy faces on the photos would be great during stock images on brutalfoods edit: 1:37:19 I thought the photos were all the game had but I was so wrong...
I started reading some 1959 printings of Nancy Drew books I got at an antique shop and I've been really been into Nancy Drew lately. I love watching these VODs.
yeSSSS this one's my favourite nance game i was so excited to hear from a friend that you're playing it! it's kind of clunky due to its age but it's really a gem. i can't go into about how and why it's my favourite due to spoilers (aside from the nostalgia factor) but
chat is particularly delightful in this one, but big congrats to numberonegayboy for making me laugh the hardest w their “he would call me a slur” (56:49) 😭
Glad to see you playing this one! I owned it as a kid so it's very nostalgic to me. I remember being too scared to continue playing the game after Nancy failed to defuse that bomb and blew up.
No ok but I love this game sm, it's just the clues are so like- hard to understand sometimes. But once you know how to get thru it and play around the second time it becomes like woah amazing
Awesome video! I always love seeing more adventure game streamers. I stream the Nancy Drew games as well, and it’s hard to find other people out there that enjoyed these games. Thanks so much for playing this! It was fun to watch 😂
I think that if they were to ever make another remastered version of a Nance game, it should be this! There’s so much potential now that they got their footing when it comes to graphics and story (although they missed the mark with Midnight in Salem).
I like the setting in this Nancy Drew game so far. There's a lot of potential, even if the puzzles and/or ways to get the game going are not obvious. This game really wants you to sleuth everywhere in everything. I need to catch up on the next VOD!
2:25:15 was something I had to do for my autism testing and it was the only test I straight up FAILED. They made me stop because I was taking so long 😅
Everyone saying it doesn't work on modern pcs but I literally have a super new laptop and I can run it fine. You just need to play with the game coding for a bitm
The WWB music sounds like something out of leisure suit larry Also, love how Ian accuses literally everyone of being the culprit, who cares if your wrong 9/10 times?! Its the 1/10 that really matters!
I never had any experience with Nancy Drew growing up since I had assumed it was "Hardy Boys for girls," so I just assumed Nancy was like 15 or something and I'm sure you can imagine my shock and confusion when the actor started hitting on her lmfao
I really love these Nancy streams, because the games have a cozy quality to them and I like Ian's projected persona, but it always bugs me how Ian refuses to use chat as a resource. I respect he wants to solve the puzzles himself, but there's a balance between solving things for oneself and holding up the story, and IMO Ian is far too willing to hold things up. If I were interested in streaming adventure games and I had an active chat with people who had finished the game before, I'd give myself maybe ten minutes to be stuck on something, and then I would allow chat to give me hints, increasing in straightforwardness until something clicked and I had an idea of what to try. If it didn't work, I'd go back to chat and we'd resume the hints process up to directly giving me the answer if necessary. I'm trying to be fair here. I want these games to be fun for Ian, but I also want them to be fun for me, and part of that is making sure we're actually moving forward at a reasonable pace. But, of course, this isn't my channel, and ultimately Ian can do whatever he wants. I just think I would find the streams more enjoyable if Ian was okay with chat giving him some answers.
i get why he doesn't tho, like i don't think i would trust all of chat to give fair hints and not just say the answer considering how many times ppl have ignored him saying he doesn't want any help
Wish this acct was more extras and less VODs. Now I gotta unsub and probably wont catch any future 'extras' :( Maybe you can migrate the extras to your main channel? plzzz
