The Holiday is one of my favorite movies of all time!!! It’s just so heartwarming. And I love the storyline with Arthur. There aren’t enough movies that feature the elderly in wonderful roles!
What’s enchanting about this movie is the way the wind blows the bushes in the background shots. This is usually horrendous for filming because of audio reasons but this movie had it all over the place. It makes the movie magical in my opinion.
Nancy is an amazing story teller. I absolutely love all of her movies . Holliday being my favorite and them sometimes gotta give. She should never retire, she makes too many people happy. That’s a gift…💯🌹🍾🥂
This movie is absolutely brilliant! One of my top five favorites and a must during the Christmas Holiday. The stars align and it lifts your soul in the most beautiful way. Every second of this movie is a treasure!
I watched again this beautiful movie today and have watched it on every Christmas for the last 4 years. I never get bored of watching it and will always be on my Christmas movie list.
I really enjoy watching Nancy Meyers movies! They are heartwarming, funny, moving, and feel-good rom-coms that put me in a better mood. I love how movies always have lovely interior set designs, colorful cinematography, and good music. She’s one of the only few successful female directors in Hollywood. Yet at the same time, she’s honestly underrated.
No, this great classic movie doesn't need a sequel. Leave the way it is. To make the sequel as good as the first is very difficult and not many movies can achieve it.
Nancy is the last of the great romantic comedy writers and directors in Hollywood. I think James Brooks has hung up his hat, we lost Nora Efron many years ago, Norm Jewison is long gone, and the list goes on but they've either retired, died or they're just no longer making these movies. Nancy's the last one we can count on for a really thoughtful, intelligent and witty romantic comedy. I pray to God she makes a few more before she retires because when she does it's over. Anybody past the age of 45 or 50 knows what I'm talking about. It's a cliche but they seriously are not making them like they used to anymore! Some try but they just don't even come close!
Nancy please make a sequel, you have no idea the love, Grace , inspiration this movie has given to us. Look at it like a puzzle for you to create. You have such a gift, you can direct it to this task 😅
The aesthetic really is important. For those of us that don’t have warmth and comfort during the holidays with friends and family, watching this helps us feel what that might be like to still have despite it... And for those that do have that warmth and comfort with their family and friends, the movie makes us nostalgic for that feeling again this year. Win win ☺️
I have The Holiday paused so I could watch this, & so glad I did. The Holiday is one of the movies I turn to this time of year to help me get into the Christmas mood. So Glad that Nancy is working & love that she let you into her world via livestreaming. Glad she has more to say. I agree w/her that it was a perfect moment & no need for a sequel. Would be so hard to capture lightning in a bottle that way again it’s lovely as is. So neat a tidbit about the Dustin Hoffman moment. Thanks for posting this. So pleasant I’ll prob pin 📌 it. Also nice choice of what the interviewer wore to share with the on camera team after her epic interview with the One & Only Nancy Meyers.
Here's how the sequels should go down...we should get sequels to the other vacations!! The Holiday 2: Cotswolds Awakens The Holiday 3: The Way of Bora Bora If they want to continue post trilogy... The Holiday 4: Across the Londonverse The Holiday 5: Far From Home Exchange The Holiday and the Home Exchange of Madness The Holiday 7: Let There Be Gumption The Holiday 8: The Last Jasper The Holiday 9: Surrey Forever! The Holiday X And if they want to do a prequel... The Holiday: 1984 In all seriousness, this movie came out when I was 14, and I watch it every Christmas Eve! An absolute treasure of a film. Still waiting for a "Deception" movie tho! Come on, Nancy XD
Does anyone know the title of the movie she wrote during the pandemic? It’s mentioned at the end of this clip and I’m wondering if it’s available on Netflix.
I don't think I want a sequel (I feel like too much time has passed) but a zoom reunion or something would be cool...or for them to release some of the deleted scenes! (I know there was at least one in the original trailer, and Miffy who played Sophie said that some of hers got cut)
Great movie, my husband loves it. You know at the very beginning, the movie trailer she's watching has a big star, Alex O'Lauglin who stars in Hawaii 50. He played for a couple seconds a boy in a Rom Com. That makes me smile. A sequel could be fun, but Jack Black has changed a lot.
Lol imagine the sound guy mad at the director of the movie for laughing too much, as if the director wasn't the one who actually hired him🤣🤣🤣 And the director telling the actor to try to act badly instead of acting well🤣🤣🤣 lol lol
The one guy is speechless Lol. Probably has never seen even ONE chick flick but as every gal will tell you we sit through endless boring boy movies. And that’s why Hollywood makes so many.
