In the Mid 60's when there was no Television station in our country, we used to hear her songs through BBC' s "Listenters Choice". She was somebody special for everybody - and we as teenagers were simply overwhelmed - her voice was "fabulous". Thank you Nancy !
Avis Sotl Oh wow...I don't know how I didn't figure that out just from her last name😁I thought his wife name was Nancy but the daughter is named after her mom. That's why I was confused.
Are you sure? I love her natural beauty too but i wonder about that stiff lip! It makes me sad when women think they have to do all that to fight the aging process!
Nancy Sinatra comes across as a great lady. She is friendly and warm and has a great sense of humour. I sure had the hots for her when she sang ''BOOTS'' (I was just one of a couple of million other English kids that felt the same way). But yeah, Nancy is a super lady. I would love to meet her and listen to her stories of her Dad and The Rat Pack and her own career. Of course that will never happen, but the dream is something I'll always hang on to.
Very under rated talent from the 60's....heaps of unforgettable songs, Boots, Somethin' Stupid, Summer Wine, and James Bond's 'You only Live Twice'...smooth as voice.
Considering the wealth and fame she comes from, Nancy's very down to earth, a nice little old lady, sort of like a diner waitress who'd say, "That'll put meat on your bones, honey."
+A Krenwinkle She's basically a content retired grandmother, living a quiet semi retirement in Palm Springs. Not to far away from her step mother Barbara Sinatra actually.
Chris Johnson I've never figured her out. A very nice bland girl, now a nice bland grandmother. I don't know if she really wanted a career, or went through it to please her father. I saw her on another video, invited to the Paley Center to discuss Frank's television work. She showed up in a jacket. Not a Mandarin jacket or some such. I mean an outdoor jacket that one might wear shopping at Target. I had to wonder what she was thinking, did father and daughter have much in common, did he really spend much time with her? Until illnesses struck, Frank was busy... an understatement.
+A Krenwinkle I don't know her personally, so I don't know for sure. But she did have a very nice recording career in the 60s had quite a few successful recordings. Has made periodic comebacks her concerts, albums sold pretty well. Wrote a book about her father in the 90s that did very well. After Frank's passing she was left quite well fixed the ownership of his music was divided between Barbara, Nancy, Tina and Frank Jr. Also a string of films that she has always been quite modest about has stated that they weren't that good. She just never took her career that seriously it wasn't her life just something she did for fun. She was fine to be a wife/mother/grandmother etc. She was always well fixed financially so she didn't have to worry about money.
Chris Johnson I regret to say that I don't look at Nancy's career historically, because I was around and aware at the time. I never got it. But you're right, she didn't take things to seriously. And by that I mean she never really seemed to have the ambition to develop herself, reach higher than being Frank's daughter. I'm still struck by her appearance to honor her father at the Paley Center; she looked as if she were going to check out tires at Sears. Some of the things she has said make no sense, seems to be about her imaginary father, as opposed to the real Frank, but I don't want to get into that.
+A Krenwinkle Maybe, as a mature woman...she had a bit of a chill that day? Her coat wasn't a cheap one, and she looked just fine in it. Hard to believe the focus on her garment. She's not out to impress anyone and has achieved enough in her life to wear whatever she pleases. Besides...ever see the goofy outfits the so-called "stars" wear today? They look like circus clowns. Ms. Sinatra looked pretty and comfortable in her own skin...as she should.
Was there more to this interview? I just love her, have all her records and CD's, etc. I wish she would talk more about her own recording career or her own career in general. It's fine that she talks about her dad, but I'd like to hear more of her own.
Nancy Sinatra is a woman I admire very much. The fact that she didn`t sleep with Elvis because he was married makes me respect her immensely. She was smitten and even in love with him, and although she was divorced, she didn`t give in to Elvis` flirting. She`s a classy woman with principles and self-respect. If all women would draw a line and tell men who are in relationships to buzz off, more children would grow up having a father by their side.
Wow. I would’ve loved to get advice from any Sinatra; the always carried themselves with such grace and class. And forget about their use of the English language! Every time I watch Frank Jr I have a new word of the day (“anathema” today lol)
Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank...Hahaha! I wish you'd talk more about yourself Nancy. I bet you have some great stories and since most of the people involved in them are dead you wouldn't have to hold back.
Rookie reporter. Is he even a reporter? He can't take a moment in time (when Gavin sits down) and improvise and enjoy it. Live the story he telling. He has to look so shocked and keep looking at his people. It's called editing, if it doesn't work for the interview then take it out after. Does Mo have to be somewhere? is talking to another human being that awkward and uncomfortable. Horrible choice for this interview.
rodrigbl1114 Your words were exactly everything I thought! He made me feel uncomfortable by the way he kept looking at his people and acting awkward. If I was CBS I would never assign him again to interview "big" people. That's the difference between a rookie bad reporter and an amazing one!
Comedian from the daily show. I wondered what ever happened to him. I like him. I can see why you wouldn’t like him if you hadn’t followed his career though.
She said "Dean was funny too." What an understatement. Dean was funnier than anyone. And Frank knew it. When Dean and Frank would go on the Tonight Show. Dean was always put closest to the host.
I love their duet called Something Stupid I can listen to that beautiful song all day long. She's an Amazingly Beautiful, Classy Lady even @ 78 or is she 79 this year born in 1940 and she still looks as beautiful as ever she's aged very gracefully. I love her and her father Frank S. and their music so much. My favorite type of music
I just love this Lady she a real blue blooded Princess . aint no more when shes gone. i hope they bring her back along with Lee when they get the technology to do that probably next two decades.
Nancy Sinatra in my opinion was one of the most beautiful women of the 1960’s! I dearly love her! I was born in 1961, but as a teenager in the 1970’s I had a 45 rpm of her singing, “these boots were made for walking” There are (2) video clips that are my favorite: 1. Nancy & her brother singing “something stupid” 2. Sergio Franchi singing her song with her (adorable)
I am NOT a fan of Frank Sinatra. He was a snob and rude to fans. As much as you {Nancy} adore your father and praise him. That is fine. He's your father and you think the world of him. But, truth being told, He was NOT the GREAT GUY you are trying to portrait. He was a rude and uppity snob to many people. Just thought I would share what I know to be true. Thank you. Patty
There is no date listed for when her interview was filmed, but in seeing Gavin McLeod, it was before his passing on May 29, 2021, at 90. She celebrated her 82nd birthday this last June 8 (2022). She was one of the 1960s great icons and singers in that fantastic pop song decade! She is outstanding and memorable in singing the title introduction song to the 1967 James Bond film, "You Only Live Twice" which peaked at #44 on the Billboard Hot 100 (US, #3 on the Adult Contemporary chart) and #11 in the UK. Her title song is considered one of the top 5 in the entire James Bond songs! 1967 was one of her greatest years with: "Something Stupid (4 weeks at #1 with Frank), "You Only Live Twice", "Jackson" (#14, with Lee Hazelwood), and "Love Eyes" (#15). One of my favorite Nancy videos is her, in her stunningly sexiest, at 26, singing "Sugar Town" (#5, rel. Dec. 1966; peak in Jan. 1967; #1 on the Easy Listening chart, and earning her a gold record), here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pjsh2j7W6Bo.html
I'm not sure of the date of this recording, but I believe the show she's talking about at the London Palladium, took place ran July 10 - October 10, 2015 (a 100 year tribute show.) So maybe around that time?
I spent an entire a day with Frank and my father, on Frank's yacht The Roma. I think I was 13. Frank was the funniest person I ve ever met in my life. Everything that came out of his mouth was hilarious!!!
Señora muy bien , es usted un ejemplo, para tanto hijo de famoso tonto, sin preparación ni estudios y viven del cuento, yo la admiro por todo lo que es y como es, muy bien gracias por todo
I can see her as a 'human being' now in these videos. I saw her as a 'plastic fantastic' when she was young, probably unfairly because she was born to a famous name. Thank you for sharing.
The Nam war was unnecessary we had a hawk in office and us so called radicals took to street to protest it and we ended that war cyz we did protest it war is not healthy for children and all living things Jane Fonda stood up for her beliefs and Nancy stood up for hers I respect both of them
In "My Father, Mr. Television" Milton Berle also said Jack Benny was the only comedian who could just look at him and he'd break-out laughing. What a gift Jack Benny had! I don't reccomend the biography though because the last few chapters were written for vengance by Berle's adopted son who decided to dishonor his dad when he had found there was no inheritance money forth-coming. Milton Berle deserves a biography with honors, not a rag like that!
i’m 15,i lost my dad when i was 11 and i really connect with Nancy ,i don’t know why but i feel like if there’s anyone out there who knows how i feel ,it’s her.I love her song “it’s for my dad” ❤
i have great respect for Nancy (and for some other women in USA Jane Fonda, Joan Baez , ..) but not for Biden or Trump) this is just the opinion of a froggy
Can someone explain the process she was speaking about, when she says " hitting with three great punches." I'm not sure that I understand it wholly. Thanks.
Amazing! She is still so beautiful. Even now. Wow. What a treat it is that she is still around. I'd love to hear her stories her father and her life too.
Nancy is a legend and so open and approachable shame Mr Rocca was obviously not! A good interviewer would have made more of the celebrity neighbour moment but he was simply rude in his reaction to her friend bringing along some personal gems. A good example of forgetting who the real stars of the interview are....
I love the duet song so much that I created my own version... Have a listen and let me know if you like it! :) soundcloud.com/louieshowers/something-stupid Frank is the king!
"The closest of seeing Him alive"..with all due respect, if seeing Mr. Sinatra alive in the London palladium and the money generated from it would go to Mr. Sinatra's Charities, then yes It would be a good thing. I love Mr. Sinatra so much, that it would be sad to see him played out "alive" and the money goes out to profiteers! But, I hope it was just that!!
If I met Nancy in the street I’d never recognise her...she’s had so much surgery over the years since her first surgery.... she looks like a totally different person.... She was much more attractive back in the day.....
I have to agree Elvis and Frank Sinatra had something very special where you would feel special to be in there presence ,I did see Elvis bit unfortunately didn’t get to see Mr Sinatra .but I often watch Nancy sing with her farther ,with that beautiful pink dress with the fringe stunning.and I love the song Nancy did with Dean M things God bless you Nancy I’m such a fan .
