I do not hear the fan noise with my volume turned all the way up. Some people go as far as to replacing the fans, but I don’t think it’s worth voiding the warranty or causing damage to the unit, given how good resolve has become with dialogue leveller options. Plus, the output of the light suggests you don’t really have to use it this close to your subject. I have a fresnel attachment and fan noise is non issue for me personally.
Me neither and yes the new resolve dialogue automatic processing is so good I have been able to recover some really horrible audio from client run productions. One recording I had was very noisy, low audio, awful stuff and by the end of the processing in Resolve it sounded professionally recorded. Shocking results really. I have found that a lot of equipment for the most part can be really great for general use but some very loud voices will find the smallest thing and blow it up to something way bigger than it really is in practical use.
Excellent test. I turned up the volume on my computer louder than I normally do and I found the fan noise to be acceptable. For you and I, we can pick these sounds out. But, I think your average viewer/listener wouldn't notice or care much about it. To me, that is.
The light was very close and I was using an omnidirectional lapel mic as well. I have tried also with an MKE600 and got better results. The fan noise complaints are definitely exaggerated.
@@ISCOOPS First, it already is usable in a professional setting. Second, we don't know what affordable means to certain people, as this is quite a lot of money to some. If someone wants to mod the light, I am sure they will find the videos that show how to do the modification and risk it themselves. Its not something I need to do nor endorse because it voids the warranty. That's it really.
Depends on the light you are competing with and how big the room is. You will need to broaden the beam with modifiers. You can get some OK room light if you use a lantern or bounce, but for the kind of shot you are talking about you likely need more power, at the very least something around the Forza500 level. I would say this light is better used as a key going through a soft box or other modifier.
@@darkechoproductionsllc9559 the cheapest way to remove is to use audacity, you need to have a few seconds of the clean noise pattern than you can remove it it works perfectly fine :-)
