@@nopenothappening2242 To be fair, the hazard level of self-replicating nanotechnology depends on its living conditions and what it eats. A form of "nanobots" already exists in the form of single-cell organisms. These can exist without turning the entire world into goo because they need very specific environments to survive. If there is nanotechnology that self replicates but only in an environment with very specific raw material that is probably fine as when not in something designed to cause replication they are inert. However, if they can just consume whatever, even with an off switch it is likely that at least one will be damaged in a way that causes it to replicate uncontrollably(like cancer in biological organisms).
I like this portrayal of future robot domination, it's nice. No hulking skulking figures, just nice and covert nanobots. Effective and elegant. Not that I would know anything about it since I'm 100% human, but still. Very nice.
It's actually about children and the feeling of being replaced by the generation after you and how when they do they'll do what they want to do instead of what you wanted them to do.
