The most well-known advances in nanotechnology have led to dramatically smaller devices that provide us very fast, compact and "smart" electronics including computers, cellphones, and games. In the process we have transformed the way that we communicate with each other. Along with these advances, multidisciplinary teams of scientists and engineers are applying nanotechnology to solve some of the most basic questions in biology and are even developing completely new biologically inspired devices. I will describe how its not science fiction any more to consider having a conversation with the smallest of living things including the cells that are constantly trying to infect our bodies.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

This is huge! Once production technology catches up this will be the future of medicine.

WOW. very cool ! Great speaker and well explained. Seems so complex at this point in time. I would worry about the body fighting or rejection the nano bots. what if you could use magnetic frequency specific to a bacteria to kill it ?

Technology is magic - I wonder how long it will take to deploy medically?
