Rei was the best partner in crime ever. It was nice to see Kenshiro walk around with an equal, I just realised Kenshiro became much more lonely after Rei's death.
Small nitpick, but I don't think I'd consider them equals. Kenshiro was the only person who could even wound Raoh, whereas Rei was stopped by one finger. Who would win Nanto Suicho Ken | A finger
Zane Gandini Rei's ultimate technique quite possibly rivaled Juza's. Ultimate techniques just have a habit of being ineffective against Raoh. Besides, Rei did kinda save Ken by using an arrow (it might have only been in the anime).
Rei's introduction was a great lead-in to the next arc. Not only does it show that there's more to Nanto Sei Ken than we thought, but you're also left wondering, just what exactly did Ken do to piss off someone so deadly.
One thing I love about HnK is the fact the protagonists have fighting arts that are just as horrific as the antagonists and almost never hold back. I mean, Rei turns people into human streamers and he's one of the true good guys throughout his whole run.
I always felt that Rei was Ken's closest friend in the series besides Bat and Lin and Toki. Toki closer than a friend cause he was his adopted brother. But Rei survived the Fang Arc, Jagi Arc, Cassandra Arc was where he got wounded, and was able to win his final battle in the Yuda Arc before he died.
Nanto suicho ken (the south star waterfowl fist) It's movements are graceful just like a bird floating on the water. However, its power and cruelty as a killing technique are unmatched.
I like to think that Vega/Balrog/Claw from Street Fighter was inspired by Rei. High pitched shrieking, air flips, and cutting style attacks. Not to mention the pretty boy look.
The guy with the nunchucks had a total disregard for life and limb, somebody should have lended him a hand, I could see why people kept Rei at arms length.
The funny thing is, you realise that Hirohiko (the artist for Jojo's) worked UNDER Buronson for HnK? If you want to know where stuff like oraora/mudamuda come from...HnK is the right place ;)
True, HnK was ending when JoJo started and you can tell that a lot of parts 1 & 2 came from that base. But calling the JoJo author Hirohiko is like calling the Sandman author Neil isn't it? They don't all go by one name like Buronson does.
You gotta love the robotic voice of the people dying and the slices moving forward and back. Plus the wonderful 00:55 Japanese narrator explanation worthy of making it into South park 😂🤣
@@NovaProspekt19the fact that Lin somehow lived so long without even barely getting hurt and only really suffering a nose bleed and punch to the face while Bat got impaled by an arrow and almost died in the Roah arc has always impressed me both bat and lin were weak children and after bat got that arrow impaled in him I was expecting him to just flat out die and with Lin I was expecting her to suffer the same fate so the fact that Lin got it so easy in that arc compared to bat had always been impressive
***** Not to mention the attempt at dynamic equivalences and comedy filler. Yes, I like the movie better, but just for the sake of faithfulness to the original material I made the post.
"I've heard legends about this fighting technique and this stranger has just proved them true by splitting every one of my comrades faces into multiple pieces with his just his fingertips....... *But my Nunchucks are are still pretty fire* "
Kaneto Shiozawa did the voice as Rei in Fist of the North Star he also did the voice as D in Vampire Hunter D anime many other anime worked on he is also known as the voice as Aramis in Wan Wan Sanjushi also known as Dogtanian and the three Muskehounds
after defeated by RAOH REI "such a hard era, men have to die so early. however women are not. they give a birth and raise children, tell the history of Men. my remaining issue is only how to die for." I was tearing up as a kid. now, I'm tearing up as an adult.
