I thought Kaja moved much better in and out of the corners than I'm used to seeing.

Thats the advantage of youth. You can bounce back and do almost anything.

@@tasibho 26 certainly isn't a spring chicken. Give credit where credit is due, it took alot of behind the scenes work to get back to playing at this level after giving birth. Some women could never.

​@@okallup8012 i certainly did give credit. But lets not act like 26 is past prime. Kim clijsters did it. Azarenka, etc. Serena did it in her mid to late 30s...that's considered old in sport.

@@deusexmachina9776 Considering the kind of season Pliskova had last year, this is a success for her. Osaka certainly didn't play badly ... far from it.

@@grammostola74 Osaka had no season at all last year. beating a vulnerable opponent isnt something to brag about - lets us she what she does against actual competition

@@deusexmachina9776 Did you see the match? I doubt it, because if you had, you wouldn't be writing this. Osaka still needs to warm up, no one disputes that, but in yesterday's match we saw a very solid Top20 level of play from both sides. So I'd be careful with the "actual competition" thing. Osaka would have easily beaten most of the Top100 players yesterday.

Please, Swiatek or Sabalenka would have defeated her easily. Decent shape but not enough to beat top 10 players.

@black.cake1 The goal for her is not to beat the top 10 at this point. The goal is to compete and get back in shape. I think she did amazing.

A lot of tennis to be played with a lot of great players. Should be a good year of tennis

Facts when she shake all the rust off and gets back into peak shape it scary hours for the top 20 because Naomi can pull an upset all she needs is to get her mental right and tell herself how great she is instead of the being humble personality she needs to let the world know that's she's back and better than ever and after every point celebrate a little bit and get the crowd hype off her play

WTA just announced last week that they set unprecedented record last year with 1billion viewers so looks like are on the good path

Are we talking about the same player? The one who got depressed and didn't want to attend press conferences? Is that charisma WTA needs? With all due respect to Naomi, she is the opposite of what tennis needs in terms of entertainment and overall engagement of audience.
