I have one.. I use it every so often and it has worked for me every time. I have had people ask me for a jump thinking I was going to pull my vehicle up to theirs. I walk over, ask them to pop their hood, they are looking at me like I am crazy, I tell them to crank it and they are up and running. They come out of the car looking astonished, they ask me where to get one. Napa. I still carry jumper cables, but for making jump starting super easy. This thing is great.
Called AAA to start my 12 y/o Lexus ES350 that is not used that often, they used the Blue Fuel to get me started, it worked great! Bought one right after that.
I borrowed this from my son-in-law and it started up my deader-than-dead battery immediately. Small engine, 2015 Honda. Maybe a larger engine needs more CCA, but this was sufficient for me. I'm looking at these videos because I'm curious to see how others use it. Some models come with short cables (these are 12") because they would have you connect the negative cable to the negative battery post. I've never heard of that being okay. Maybe there's something about portable jump starters that makes that safe, but I'll be going to the chassis just the same.
I also bought one used it once then it kept blinking, the manual says it may be too hot or cold. In Hawaii it never gets too hot or cold. Tried customer service, tech dept. They never returned my calls!
After finding this unit (85-901) capable of "boosting" only vehicles with the slightest of discharged batteries I opened it to modify it for other portable power uses. Inside I found a clearly labeled 3000 mAH battery. Shame on NAPA and Schumacher for marketing a blatantly mis-labeled product.
Also, why was it not demonstrated on a large engine ? A v8 ? Or a high out put v6 ? Engines with are also very. Common in the market place today. Even a small v8. Chevy 305 -350, Chrysler 318-360 or a smaller displacement semi ? Not so good boys. I've seen different manufacturers demonstrate there similar products on vehicle with larger and large engines, repeatedly, on a single charge of the jump box. Even seen demonstrations in which a vehicle was started from cigarette lighter sockets and demos with the vehicle not having a battery mounted in the vehicle. Don't get me wrong. I love Napa love Napa products. Napa does a great job at providing great service and good quality parts. Along with good quality / effective tools that have a real place in the industry. I believe this product could hold its own and the video should have shown that.
My diehard dh110 unit looks just like this one, only says diehard instead of blue fuel on the front. Every buttons are the same, just my diehard is grey instead of blue.I wonder who copied who?
+Ray.Ardelle Napa owns the BlueFuel line of battery chargers and battery packs and flashlight. Schumacher uses the RedFuel line. All the items are mostly the same. Ive seen different charging ports on the 360 LED flashlights between the Napa and Schumacher brand, other than that i think its all same just different labels. I personally like the Napa battery packs look better with the lettering.
I have one and it's pretty awesome for what it is. Much better than old jumpboxes. DO NOT TRY TO USE IT OUT OF THE BOX. Fully charge it first, that may be why it has bad reviews. I left mine outside not charging for the entire winter and just jumped my X3 no problem and still had plenty of power left in the unit.
Cheeses, hire a scriptwriter. This is a train wreck. "Today"? When else would we be watching but "today"? "Based on lithium ion technology? What, are we getting paid by the word now?
Danny Nguyen the "BLUE FUEL" if from napa and the part number is #85-901 napa now offers usb/micro usb battery packs. 2600mah #85-902 4200mah #85903, a 10,000mah one with a digital battery readout is #85-904. with the 85-904 i can charge my iphone 5 times from 10% battery. it is the best camping or hiking battery for the price. u can get a ebay one for 20 bucks, but they lie and say they are 50,000 mah. no way they are that size. it would be the size of a car battery if it was that much mah
+Michael Havens if u guys got the big 10,000mah pack it takes about 12-15 hours to charge it. I leave it charged over night and it done when i wake up. The 4200mah charges in about 4 hours
