@@CoffeeCupids it’s did slightly. I let them dry before placing them in the oven. I have gas oven so I was afraid of a fire. The color did transfer slightly but the actually print didn’t. Gonna try again tho with more saturation. I feel I didn’t wert the napkin well enough.
@@m00n1e1105 I just did another project and I tried with acetone and it didn’t take. So I think we should stick to acetone-free ones. I am just so disappointed I didn’t mention what type of nail polish remover that was 😔 sorry for that! 😫
Wow 🤩 I love this idea. Imagine being the hostess with the Mostes lol 😂 I can make earrings and jewelry to match the napkins etc. for a luncheon or dinner party. Hey these can be sold as a set along with napkins ,ring holders. I would make charms for wine glasses too but use a paint pen to write names on for guests. This is a great idea for a business.everyone has holiday parties, birthdays, baby showers, weddings, graduations, retirement parties etc. I’m going to jump on this train. Fun fun fun .
@Clay Tutorials ❤ love this so much! The first napkin with roses on is exactly my taste so i was really excited to come across your video 😊 i really appreciate how you left your mistakes in there and explained how to fix them - thats so helpful for beginners.
You are very lucky to find beautiful napkins so inexpensively. I occasionally can find a package for $3.95 but normally they are $6.95 here in Canada. You could make a lot of earrings from one package but if you want some variety in finished products it can get pretty expensive. I will definitely try this method with my clllection.
@@CoffeeCupids they would be very inexpensive when using them for jewelry because you would get so many from each sheet. I have been building a stash of them to use to decorate furniture. Maybe I should make jewelry instead. Yours are lovely.
@@CoffeeCupids I think the really pretty napkins are expensive because the sellers have discovered how valuable they are to creators of art. A common saying in sales is, “What ever the market will allow.” We need a way to scoop up supplies quietly before the sellers catch on! LOL
I just absolutely love your wonderful tutorial on applying paper napkins to transfer their pretty designs onto polymer clay! I am relatively new to making polymer clay jewelry and am always happy to learn new-to-me techniques!! The earrings you made turned out to be so very elegant!! This technique comes to me just in time for Mother's and Grandmother's Day gift giving season! I have always been a little skeptical about how useful paper napkins are in arts and crafts--but you made me a firm believer that sophisticated jewelry can be made with these lovely budget-wise materials! I will have to check out my local party goods stores to see what lovely patterns I can find to try this technique for myself! Thank you so much for taking your time, energy, expertise, and expense to teach tutorials to people like me who never knew these techniques existed! Keep up the good work! I hope you will have a truly awesome year 2023 !!! Sincerely, Laurie from Daffodil Golden Trumpets Ministry 🤩💓🦋🌲🌟🌞🌞🎺🎺🍀🍁🌈
Awww Laurie 🥹🥹🥹 Your comment just made my day! Thank you for the sweet words and the time you put to write such heartwarming comment 😍🥰 I appreciate it a lot ❤️ I am sure you will make some fabulous Mother’s day gifts 🥰
I love this technique which I had forgotten so I went to my stack and found my napkins from when I used to cover bottles, thanks so very much for a reminder and sharing 😊 💖💖💖
I LOVE these! I have some napkins with feathers on and I was trying to figure out what I could usebvb them for! I really like feather earrings so these will be perfect. Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial with us! I can't wait to try it!😊👍🌟🧡
These are lovely, thank you for sharing. Could you cut the pieces out first, then transfer the napkin onto the shape? Maybe save having clay left over. I will go try this :D
It is definitely possible but with all the rolling and robbing and pressure you might loose the shape. And also you might not put enough pressure on the edges and it might not transfer well! But please let me know if you tried it that way ☺️
Beautiful Tutorial! I m a anxious person, doesnt it begin to burn in the oven? Cause of nail polish and paper and heat sounds for me really dangerous. Could explain?
I'm curious if you could print out a picture onto tissue paper and then use this method to transfer it to the clay. Perhaps you would try out this method for us, please. Tyvm
Thank you! It is not necessary to do both sides, one side can remain white clay (sometimes people are sensitive or allergic to some varnishes so I try to not varnish the backs as much as possible)
I'm curious, if the clay I'm using calls for baking at the same temp but for less time, should I use your time because of the transfer or the recommended time by the clay manufacturer? TIA!
Oh sorry to hear that! You can try this method, it’s bulletproof : New Polymer Clay Napkin Transfer Technique: Stunning Double-Sided Earrings Tutorial ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yxMdKPp3cXU.html
You have wonderful ideas. I have two questions. Would this work with air dry clay or must they be baked? Also, could you use pages from a book for this technique?
Thank you 🙏🥹 I have yet to try air dry clay as I don’t have that much experience with it. I would guess mod podge would work better on air dry clay. I have another tutorial with wrapping paper. I guess that would work with book paper too. 😊
This looks absolutely amazing! Have you done a video like this and instead use Resin at the end of the process? I've heard its toxic to breath in so I'm hesitant. I would like to learn the safe way though. :)
This is such a great idea. Love your tutorials!! Question: Can you do the print on both sides of the clay before baking? And if not, can it be done after baking once?
Thank you! This method I have not tried. In case it would be possible it should be before baking. But I have another tutorial with napkins that you can do on both sides, before or after baking: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yxMdKPp3cXU.htmlsi=tEKfggl0VW36rEUy
The thing is the tissue looks like a white residue when it dries. You can always try resin to see if it helps. I have an updated version of this tutorial with liquid clay and it does not need rubbing off and the results are even better! Check that out 😉
Try on a little piece of clay and see if you like the results. I usually do that when I want to try new material ☺️ I have tried it with both acetone-free nail polish remover and gel hand sanitizer on Fimo clay and they both work. Acetone on the other hand didn’t work.
You can use any roller that you have. I honestly don't like mine, that's why I haven't add the link. It takes too much effort and it is very uncomfortable.
