I visit Naples, Italy for a taste of Sorrento and Pompei via a Celebrity Beyond Cruise Shore Excursion. Naples, the third largest city in Italy, is a beautiful place full of vibrant history and plenty of sites to behold. I take you to a farm outside of Sorrento after a lengthy bus ride before heading into the town of Sorrento for an afternoon of sightseeing. Then it's off to Pompeii to see Mount Vesuvius and the ruins of Pompeii, destroyed by a volcano in 79 AD.
I visited Naples, Sorrento, and Pompei via a cruise shore excursion from the brand-new cruise ship Celebrity Beyond, the newest cruise ship of Celebrity Cruises. Celebrity Beyond had her inaugural sailing in April 2022, followed by an inaugural season in the Mediterranean. Celebrity Beyond was captained by Captain Kate McCue. Celebrity Beyond is home-ported in Fort Lauderdale, where the new Celebrity Beyond cruises to the Caribbean, and is home-ported in Rome and Barcelona in the summer when she sails all across the Mediterranean.
The 9-day voyage on Celebrity Beyond visited Naples, Sicily, La Spezia, Santa Margherita, Nice, and Marseille. Celebrity Beyond disembarked in Barcelona, Spain.
