Since I made this video a month ago, I had to avoid looking at the comments until I watch the actual film. And I gotta say, I was disappointed with the film. But nevertheless, thanks for watching!
Same. I have recently been getting into history as a hobby, so when I heard Napoleon was getting a movie it got my hopes up. It’s sad they chose to dedicate most of the movie to his relationship with Josephine rather than actual battles.
i enjoyed the movie, it was about his life rise too fall and may I say it may of not focused on the battles he won or was apart but it was good to see what his life was about.
was always fascinated with the past... in my younger years, i thought that by peeking through the past it may perhaps provide the solutions needed for the present.
So sad to see such an interesting story go to waste. The story of Napoleon and his conquests is one of the most fascinating there is in human history. I am so disappointed to hear that this movie wasn't great, especially when it could have easily been one of the best of the decade. 😢
I was very concernd when I first heard that the movie would cover the years from toulon till his exile to saint helena. You can't tell this 22 year long story in just 2 1/2 hours. The movie felt like a "Best of" from a napoleon triology where each movie was 3 hours+ long. Yet, as a history buff, I still really loved the movie and am glad it exits. It was a blast watching it in theaters and I can't wait for the directors cut (hopefully it will also be released on Blu Ray).
The movie itself may have been disappointing but the visuals, the acting, the emotions. And a hundred reasons more is reasonable enough to go see movies in the theaters.
This film will always hold a special place for me, for being the film to introduce me to Napoleonic History in the first place. I was anyways more interested in Cold War era events before, but the Napoleonic era is just as fascinating. Gods, generals, empires, grand visions. Go into this movie as a casual viewer and not a historical critic and you’ll likely enjoy yourself. If for no reason other than the costume designs, soundtracks and visuals.
If you all wanted to know why this movie is bad, Let me summarise, 80% Talking, 15% Sex and 5% Battles thats exactly in the trailer but just the 3 minute trailer
Bro this is great! And the beggining... 👏👏👏 I think that this is the best Napoleon edit I've seen. It is original and just better than other edits. And if some edits on Napoleon have 2m+ views... This needs 5m+... Really great work men! The edit with that sword 0:10 is cool. Same with that cannons 0:28
I will save this video. with the hope that once the movie comes out you will finish the editing with the complete music and more fragments of the movie.
The movie plot was trash an the obvious many inaccuracies which is expected from a movie but the battle scenes are genuinely cool and the cinematography is a beauty especially with shots of Napoleon.
They aren't wrong though. It's a terrible movie. It was actually one of the worst movies I've ever seen. They focused more time on the love story of Napoleon and Josephine which is debatably the most boring part of Napoleon's life. It was incredibly historically inaccurate. And it's just the fact that they had the life of Napoleon to work with who is one of the most if not the most interesting man that ever set foot on this planet and they don't do anything with the warehouse of potential for a badass movie. It never showed why Napoleon was such a brilliant commander, it never showed some of the best parts of his life (like his crossing of the alps), it was made out like some of the things he did (Like leaving Elba) was out of love for Josephine when that's not why he left. I never thought I was watching Napoleon Bonaparte. I always saw actors portraying these characters which isn't agood thing. And so many other things that I can list off. So... yeah those girls were absolutely right. It was awful.
@@hckingking i thought the idea of showing his love life and the time in the frontlines was an attempt to show how these were the things in life what napoleon cared the most!
@@dili1399 no. He may have loved Josephine but he cared more about his empire. He divorced Josephine to marry the Austrians Emperors daughter to unity the countries for his empire for god sakes. So he cared more about power than Josephine. And he got that power mostly through WAR.
Best piece of advice I could give, don’t listen to the reviews. Nearly every biopic that’s ever come out of Hollywood takes creative liberties and although they’re amazing movies, they still get haters talking about what they wanted to see, or pointing out every little inaccuracy instead of just accepting the film for what it is… a film. Biopics are supposed to capture the essence and feeling of a person, not every little detail and story about them, and I think Napoleon did a fine job. It’s not the greatest movie ever made, sure, but I’ll buy it when it comes out. My advice, go watch the movie and watch it as a movie, not a history channel documentary.
the goal is to have dream like napoleon and conquer it 🔥🔥not doing just 9-5 job, weekend parties, casual hookups, scrolling through social media, wasting time on web series
