This compilation of our Napoleonic Wars series covers the period from 1809 to the Emperor's abdication in 1814. Along the way we encounter the horrors of the French occupation of Spain and Portugal, Napoleon's disastrous invasion of Russia, and the great struggle for German in 1813. The series concludes with arguably Napoleon's finest campaign - his doomed defence of Paris in 1814.

One of the few generals throughout all recorded history who had the instinct and awareness to be formidable in any age. @loyalpiper
@loyalpiper Год назад
@@Kunfucious577 they weren't that stupid. The only reason that occurred was due to miscalculations in the strategy of creeping barrage. It called for troops to walk at a steady pace behind an advancing wall of artillery shells, by the time they reached the trench lines the Germans would be still recovering from the hits by the time the troops reached it. The most infamous example was where the British troops fell too far behind the advancing barrage at the somme and as a result "walked" straight into the fully manned german positions.
@doesnotreallymatterr
@doesnotreallymatterr Год назад
@@Kunfucious577 As a admirer of Napoleon myself, I don't think he'd be as spectacular in WW1 as in his era, he excelled in mobile warfare, the very opposite of what happened in WW1, positional warfare, which could not be avoided, because of trenches and machine gun positions, you can't really outflank it or charge on it, unless you're willing to make suicide beyonette charges, the only chance would be Tanks, but early tanks became effective on very late stage of war, after they became a bit more reliable and faster.

I could imagine that you’re talking about Napoleon’s sale of the Louisiana Territory in 1803. But the Americans sooner or later were going to settle and overwhelm France in taking this land. Just like they had done with Mexico. With or without Napoleon, the US was going to expand from the Atlantic to the Pacific.

His army was mostly composed of green half-trained conscripts, and his cavalry had never recovered from the huge losses of 1812. This meant his reconnaissance capability was near zero. He had already had two subsidiary forces heavily defeated and smashed at Grossbeeren and Katzbach. (Explanation: did you know that there will be just as much joy in heaven for a gang member or prostitute or drug dealer, etc who turned their life around as much as a person who was a perfectly good Christian their whole entire lives? It’s true! (2 Peter 3:9)- “He does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants everyone to repent.” (Explanation: God Does NOT want to punish teen parents, or gang members or prostitutes, gossips, bullies, etc, What makes Him happy is to see such individuals turn their lives around for the better and prove all doubters and critics wrong! That’s it. (The untold secret about Christians)- Did you know that A fair percentage of True Christians are actually FORMER gang members, or former drug dealers, former bullies, former teen parents, former prison inmates, etc? people who did bad things in their past and were desperate for a life change. So they turned their lives to Jesus Christ and the Bible. And it worked out well for them! Jesus Christ is wonderfully accepting! That is who we really are, not “holier than thou people.” Version 5.0
