Hello everyone, I have recently discovered that I have been induring narcissistic abuse about four months ago, and I mean to tell you I thought I was going to lose my mind. Once I began to educate myself on narcissistic behavior, I finally left the relationship, and began regularly seeing a therapist. You speak the truth. He was like a vampire. When I was happy, he hated that. But as soon as he hurt my feelings, he was a proud, sick person!! Even I could see that. I ghosted my Narc.... it blew his mind. He started stalking me, calling and crying to my family... banging on my door. He literally pickup a girl infront of me??? I'm don't know if I'm a narcissist, but I definitely have an anxious attachment style..my 'friend' ghosted and grey rocked me out of nowhere as a control tactic and he immediately looked for more supply. So this is confusing to me. I went through months of anxiety and depression. No closure, and poor communication. My narcissistic ex wife/mother of my twins thought she could keep my family and I would still be a father to her son . She is an energetic vampire, i started to notice that whenever i thinked about her i was feeling drain of my life force and was putting myself on a sorta like 9-10 of swords energy for the tarot entusiast, i realized that what i had to do is just ovoid thinking about her and go grey rock, and just ficus on myself and my craft, like dont think about them, dont even hate them they revel in your emotions and reactions

It took me 7 years to realise I had been in a relationship with a narcissist.. only after 4 years of making me believe I had a child with her the truth came out I was not the father, not only did she lack the ability to apologise to my family she also used it against me saying I was a liar therefore proving her lack of any honesty or to admit her fault. Shame it took such a traumatic event to realise what she was but sin e researching I finally understood. Even after my attempts to forgive the same behaviour continued, has now been 6 months no contact and the wounds are slowly healing. A narcissist will never admit to what they truly are... very sad

I'm a graphic artist from a very rual part of New Mexico (Bent, NM), coming from a cruel Narcissitic mother. Fled New Mexico to NYC where I was "taken in" I was drawn to a narciissist as a roomate, unconsciously re-living childhood abuse from my parents. After I got the courage to leave this person, I got my own apatment and finished art school. After 12 years in NYC i returedn home to Bent, NM. One day the guy and his little childish boyfriend literally showed up one day at my door. My ex friend said that they were traveling cross-country to see the US states. But I new in my heart he simply wanted to peer into my life again, gaining a sort of new control, or at the minium to confirm his feeling that he had a right to me and my life. It was creepy. I played polite (as sadly we never taught my my father or mother to defend ourselfves). They took me to dinner an when on thier way. Never herard from him since, but as i get my art and my optical illusion inventions up on RU-vid I vowed to never refrain telling my story. Not to get him back as revenge, but simply ot to be afraid to tell the truth.

My Narccisist friend (we were both pretty talented artists) used me up, always keeping me "below" his level. He tried to move his aunt into the extra room, I didn't realize it was his way of getting the foot in the door to obtain squatters rights in my home. Long story, but when I finally rejected him and he realized he wasn't getting her moved in, he set fire to the kitchen when I was home one day. The house will never recover. But i suppose I will!

Growing up I was so focused on my hobbies (art, and music) that I never had a long relationship. Eventually I found someone and after 7 years of being together fighting of such small things like "where to eat"... They left me... It only happened after I told them on the phone that I knew there manipulative ways. I called them out on there patterns and they got fed up'n left. I trauma bonded with this person and now I feel addicted to there presence in my life but there presence hurts me, pushing people away including my family, etc, etc... When I first met her I thought all was fine, then she told me bout all the things in her life.. How she lost a close family member once... She had a condition, I used to stay up all night reading up on it to try to help her. Cook her food, Take her to the hospital, even after 4 months of dating her when she started to get viciously jealous, name call me in fights like crazy, she broke my glasses off my head once... I remember having to get her out of traffic because she was laying down in the middle of the street. After all that, After all the medications she was on, losing her mind on me, after helping her get her life, balance her blood sugar, being her nurse, cook and all... she left me.. I thought it was just another fight and possibly her BPD but at this point I'm not sure. I lost a lot of friends, hobbies, a lot of time, I could go on.. It's just hard. I was so inexperienced in relationships I never knew about all these things... Like how she said to me in a fight "she would pretend to be sick so I would go to her and comfort her." I would be out painting a murals, then I would get a phone call with her starting a fight and have to deal with that... I forgot who I was coming out of the relationship. My memory was foggy, I was losing hair for a bit there(Thank god not much). She blocked me off everything... I feel like I want to apologize even when I shouldn't. My mind feels messed with... Going to be hard going on that next date with someone new I tell ya. Damn.. I remember having to put away all the kitchen knives when she would start a fight with me... Like she was pretty crazy at one point but now I'm painted in the bad light... I've always been so I'm ok with it. I just still feel bad for saying what little bad things I did compared to her bombard of paragraphs of name calling at me... She was diagnosed with BPD during the relationship and I was diagnosed with ADD when I was in Jr High(In my 30's) I remember after taking ADD medication for first time in like 20 years(last 6 months of the relationship) I was like "What am I doing here?....) haha.. I guess I started to realize her games...

This is really helpful to me right now. Thank you. I am currently trying to leave my wife, but she keeps creating issues or circumstances for me to keep me around with. The latest one was a huge red flag; she simply chose to drive home on an empty gas tank, and asked me to get her a gas can of gas to help her. The other situations were, ohh the cat is sick, ohh the dog is sick, ohh the cat is sick again.. im often puzzled how things would get to this point or if it's general negligence, but she's invested in spending her time with other people. Especially with these past few holidays, she's been seeking validation from other people by spending time with them. Her creating situations for me to solve is a huge control tactic to use on me as a sigma/advocate personality type, because fixing issues is what im good at but kept me busy when she went to tap into other people for validation. She even asked me to fix her kitchen too, to keep me busy. I wanted to start a new family with her, but she panicked when realizing the gravity of responsibility it required. Her control mechanisms were the last effort to keep me around while she went on living her own life.

I've dealt with this man off and on for more than 20yrs but this last five has had me on an emotional rollercoaster,so I called him out on his narcissistic behavior and then I blocked him immediately from all contact, im hoping that he will keep it moving with his other supply's 😊

I don't know if this is true of all or most narcissists, but mine refused to make major decisions and in his passive-aggressive manner he nudged me to make them. There was a certain degree of cowardice to this, but mostly it was because he wished to be in a position to blame me for any negative outcomes.

It is amazing, and dreadful how they seem to be able to cause you to believe it would or could ever work out. Part of you wishes it could. If they could only understand how good things could be. That is a complete illusion. Wishing for something to click and somehow everything falls into place is a fools task. If it goes well for a time, it is only so that they can line up more sources of attention. There is no point in considering anything of value will come of your even knowing the narcissist. They ultimately seek your distruction. I personally believe they are under the operation of the demonic. Terrible ending to trickery you were subjected to. Not an ounce of empathy.

When you know what is happening you have the advantage. Use this knowledge to starve their supply of your emotional reactions and allow them to discard you. This way it's their idea and the break up would be less turbulent. Imo.

I even received a torrent of false accusations regarding someone she know but I have never met and never had anything to do with. Narcissism is caused by being invalidated as a child, its not right what they do but its also not their fault they turned out that way their life was stolen from them from awful caregivers when they were under hypnosis from 0 to 7 trained to be that way. Also this society spits out narcissist like no other thats what a highly competitive world creates with 2 parents not being fully attentive to their kids emotional/physical needs this is the outcome.

I did the no contact for 5 weeks with my narc gf and when i contacted her after that she downplayed her new "friend" and ya well i already figured that she had slept with him. Things got worse after i was hoping to re-kindle what i thought we had. She filed then dropped false assault charges on me. She was drunk like usually and she only started the situation because she wanted to go see him for a couple days before she drove 1200 miles back to her home. I truly loved her, so why do i feel like im the one who cheated? I miss her. Just not the abuse.

Yea mine thought she was better because of me and because of church. The for she got more cult like appeal and claimed her powers etc and god gifts the more she shifted im of the reasons all these things happen between us so she used that as a excuse for leaving me a few times even though there was something different that triggered her to get mad or blow up at me followed with ignoring or wanting to not discuss much on what happened or blaming it on me, or something spiritual that caused it or her confusion. This last time she turned full dark against me and claimed she is pure love. Here’s the secret, every single human being has narcissistic traits, characteristics and tendencies and the tactics being described here are the very same that you are condemning others for doing to you. I am in the process of longing so hard for her and even wondering if I am the narcissist. I need therapy so bad. Im 40 years old and didn’t date in high school. I’m not a bad looking guy. I met my ex wife in 2004 and we were together 15 years and had 2 kids. That relationship was not very deep and when we parted ways we were both ready to divorce, then that’s when I decided to date 4 months later and met her. The one that has choked my inner soul. I saw all the red flags but her charming playful personality and sexuality pulled me in so quick. I was like a kid being fed my favorite candy. The push and pull and confusion and how I ended up being the confused one while seemingly always getting pulled back in every time so clearly makes sense now. A lot of the time her actions and words made me shut down, one could say I was using the silent treatment, which isn’t true I was just at a loss of what to say and if it was even right I say anything and simply walk away then a week or 2 in I would confess my loneliness and desire to see her and be in her arms, bam everything was suddenly ok in the world, this process repeated what seemed like every 3 or 4 months. Earlier this year I made it 3 weeks and was feeling good and then I got the text “Its so lonely not having anyone to talk to” and guess what? I was sucked back in. I was not perfect, she found some things about me and vowed to help me overcome them, but then to only later use it all as an excuse to discard me when everything hit a wall. She would be so charming one minute and then the next snap and turn on a dime. I shut down again and like always several days later I let her know I was hurting and wanted to fix it, and this time the discard happened. She called me a coward and told me she didn’t need a man to be happy. Too much was said this time around to overcome and I have entered the healing process. I am blocked everywhere. If her history is repeating like I believe it is, she already has a new supply and is love bombing this man. I want her to get help, I want her to be happy.
