Uh, ok. I don’t have any way to prove it to you, but it was in Kansas City in 2013 or 2014. Totally ordinary for a hardcore band on a small label to crash in a house on tour. I highly doubt they’d remember me but they were acquainted with my roommate.
@@sd42790 I believe you bro. I was in the pop punk scene around that time and it wasn't uncommon for really small bands to crash on fan's couches while out touring because the scene was so small and they were really doing it pretty DIY. Some band members would even make posts asking where they can crash in certain cities.
The amount of joy it brings me seeing a hardcore band get more popular in the way they’ve done it, and end up on talk shows and freakin nardwuar, is unreal.
I was the biggest Trapped Under Ice fan in high school. I remember stumbling across Turnstile’s ‘Pressure to Succeed’ EP in 2011 thinking, “yo the lead singer is the drummer from TUI!” Crazy to see them get interviewed by the nard. TUI TIL I DIE!!!!!
My god man, have been a HUGE power trip fan for the last couple of years and just got to see Turnstile live. So cool knowing those guys were friends back in 2016, they are all so damn awesome. RIP Riley we miss ya
I just found Turnstile last year and, as a guy who doesn't listen to Rock often besides the occasional single-track, I have enjoyed "GLOW ON" soooo much. Glad to be able to learn more about the band!
Damn these guys really climbed the fucking ladder. From hometown roots to mainstream. You guys have seeds planted everywhere. Repping MD from the start. It’s good to see you boys grindin. It’s only up from here.
I thought the notification was talking about the lil spinny metal bar things in the subway or at shows...like Nard had gotten trapped and needed assistance 😂
I got to see these guys in Bangkok and also did a write up about the band for our group Punk Rock Bangkok. The guys were super chill really down to earth and its good to see the band get as big as they are keeping the old hardcore spirit alive but also creating a new sound that is a bit more funk oriented. I used to play the real thing video in my classes as well. Now in Nam and they are one of the more popular hardcore/ punk bands who have played over here. But yeah cool to see a new Nardwar video the Wierd Al of celebrity interviewers. Cool to see his knowledge of old school hardcore and punk. Its cool how Nardwar literally just got his start by going for it gorilla style and always impresses the artist from his knowledge and background of the performer.
Damn you know turnstile had made it when nardwuar is talking to them. This is awesome especially because I have been following these guys for years and can I just say they are the best band I have seen live
Man I talked to a guy at a bar in Linz, Austria last week about him opening up with his band for turnstile like ten years ago, crazy how far they have gotten, so deserved
Amazing band. Was always into hardcore. The band has evolved a lot since Pressure to Succeed. Glow On is the band stepping into the mainstream. The hardcore influences are still there. But, the band has incorporated so many other styles into their music: Dub, Hip-Hop, Pop, electronic, etc. They are morphing into a more aggressive version of this generations, 311. Seeing them at Hard Rock Live Orlando In Oct. A place of many epic shows through the years, AFI, Story of the Year, etc.
Watchin nardwuar interviews are with artists I've never heard of is so different. I know so many peoples childhood friends and what ilegal mp3 software they used before any of their songs
Been a fan of these guys since I saw them open up for Jean Albért Le Carr at a chateau show in 1675. It's crazy seeing them blow up, but also kind of expected because it's what always happens when a white dwarf is triggered into runaway nuclear fusion.
