Thanks for sharing the timestamp. We need to remember these moments when Ali gets a bit cringe impudent and starts garnering some haters. To me, this simple gesture of respect for Danya cancels out three tantrums :) If the world could see my tantrums playing bullet at 3am I'd have a nice collection of haters myself.
10:07 "Thank you RASH Daddy nofe." 18:18 "Why are you down 3-0 versus Naroditsky?" 19:02 "If I concentrate a little bit I can adopt him easily." 19:57 "You take points from Magnus and give them to Daniel." 32:12 "How did he calculate that so quickly?" ("Did I want to take this?") 37:47 "I'm sure he's refuted it already, in a millisecond." 47:03 "Give him 2 years and he'll be the best blitz player in history." 50:09 "Alireza rarely blunders and never fails to punish blunders." 59:39 "There's no opponent more frustrating than Alireza Firouzja." 1:12:09 "Completely insane quality of play."
Before saying "I can adopt him easily", he says "IF" Dan were 2700, "THEN" I could have adopted him easily. Then he says that's the problem (Dan not being 2700) and if you can fix that (make Dan 2700), that would be great.
I'm a big fan and I've donated before (and I feel the need to say this before my hot take) but I don't see it as "too much passion" I just think it's kind of childish. I legitimately cringe. Don't @ me. The chess content is amazing though
@@Reflexzzzz Are you serious? Have you seen Alireza play a lot? Daniel is one of the most composed, mature and smortsmanshiplike players out there. I don't want to say anything bad about Alireza, either. The two mostly get along and we shouldn't try to stir up drama.
Daniel whilst I understand the ego, take heart in that let's be honest someone will always eventually beat us. You literally took the 2nd best player in the world to 9.5 to 6.5. Whilst you tutor and stream for an income he just plays and studies top level chess. The fact that this was even close shows what a legend you are. You cannot win them them all and whilst we all want to be number 1 you are still one of the best chess teachers online.
@@Tyler-bp4md I get salty af playing bullet at 3am on my phone so I'll be the last to judge another mofo. I throw my tantrums silently cuz my gf's asleep. Besides, I should be studying endgames instead of becoming 0.001% better at flag swindling at stupid fast time controls.
This is like an Anime battle where the protagonist gives everything he has to land a hit only for the villain to reveal that he is only using 20% of his power
@@elponseco4567 he's probably super gm. he's head and shoulders above the normal gms. he is a top gm. only other top gms cuase him serious trouble. he crushes normal gms.
1:23:18 simple, move the queen to g6 then he takes the horse then you move the bishop to h6 then he does some random stuff he doesn't have any option, if ali takes the queen, daniel can take it back, then after ali's useless move then checkmate pincer g7 queen
1:23:10 Be5 is obviously winning, and Qf6 is mate in 5, but Danya says later that it wasn't winning at 1:24:38 ?? Anyway, amazing Vid :) great performance against Alireza !
56:05 The self-pity that Danya shows as he gets discouraged about the match is actually refreshing to me. He's not afraid to show us his humanity, and by "sulking" he makes it okay for the rest of us to be imperfect too. Even a great player like Danya can get down on himself, so hey, maybe I'm not so bad. I love Eric Rosen, but he almost never shows flaws. Same with John Bartholomew. Those guys are "exemplary". And I'm happy for them, but I can't quite relate to their level of "goodness". I'm too flawed myself. So seeing a genius like Danya feeling sorry for himself is actually comforting to me, in a weird way.
No. If you listen closely, he's reading the chat, and says it's easy to adopt him "IF" Dan is a 2700 player, and he says that's the problem. He then says if you solve the problem (make Dan a 2700 player), that would be great. In fact, Alireza shows nothing but respect to Dan in this entire video. Someone in chat says why are you 3-0 behind, and he says because Dan is powerful. Also, when the mouse slip happens at 37:55, Alireza says it first cause he know Dan doesn't make a blunder like that. That's why I enjoyed watching this. These guys respect each other and are killing each other at the same time.😁
Hm I guess the black king would just run up the board. Take the bishop the the knight after qf6 check. Yeah maybe it doesn’t work. Looks like you could get a perpetual out of it though
If Qf6 black takes Knight with bishop. If white plays Bishop h8 threatening Qg7# then black can just sack queen Qxf1 and after white takes the queen black will capture bishop also. Now two rook with bishop against queen is easily winning
When we compare chess players we always fail to understand that after a certain level of technique, the chess ability is mainly based on who you are. Naroditsky has a tender soul just like Spassky did. Carlsen is more like Fischer and Kasparov. Danya's personality type requires much more confidence when it comes to higher levels. Even the giant posture of Kramnik is enough to overwhelm him. "If he is tall, then he is slow" would be the way of thinking when it comes to fighting. Every armor has weak points. That is not something about moves or tactics or combinations. It is how you position yourself and your opponent in the general scheme of events. For example, Nepo did not believe in himself at the championship 2021. The belief in ourselves is the very first step otherwise we can convince noone including our opponents. That is why Danya is so good at 1-3-5 minute chess against Carlsen and Alireza; but, in the longer time formats he fails. His failure is not due to a lack of his positional understanding or tactical vision. It is about how he positions himself in the world. He is a tender soul like Spassky. He should embrace the wisdom of Spassky. Spassky's psychology of chess might be the most complex in this sense. If anyone can understand this, it would be Danya. My advice to this beatiful young lad is some pull-ups. There are very few things that can boost confidence like doing some pull-ups. Dubov is doing a lot that is why he does not give a fuck about anything. Danya needs that essence in the composition of his soul as well. Spassky was a very good athlete also. Build up some testosterone.
Yeah that’s the way it should be. If it was balanced you’d hear audio hell because a lot of time when they talk over each other it’ll be inaudible for both while in that case danya will be more audible than firouzja which makes sense as he’s the host
@@GodofDisco that is true. but, he still needs to manage his emotions whether it affects people inwardly or outwardly. Affects like outrage still ensues either way
@@fakereality5204 For me an 2000 elo amateur it would be nice to see the engine bar, where i could see the proper evaluation for each position. I dont think its hard to understand why i want an engine bar:)
So weird how danya despite not really being a serious player or a tournament player can still go toe to tow with the top players in the world. It’s almost a shame tbh he doesn’t take a break from streaming and focuses on his chess to maybe get some FIDE points
He does well against Alireza due to stylistic reasons but he gets completely crushed by Hikaru so because Naka is a sharp, tactical player like Daniel is himself just much better.
@@ym276 I mean, getting crushed by one of the best blitz players in history isn’t really what it’d use to prove he isn’t as good. Like I’m pretty sure nakamura would beat magnus in blitz even. And in Blitz and bullet his score against magnus is 500-300ish. So he’s definitely not #1 that’s for sure, but the fact he’s doing that well against all those top players while not being professionally active for a long time and while not working on his chess all that much while those dedicate all their time to studying honestly makes you think if he ever works seriously he could achieve some serious thing.
The reason he can hold his own against these players in blitz is because he spends most of his time playing and practicing in the blitz format and doesn’t study as much otb anymore, if he focuses on his chess his blitz will be worse… there’s always a trade off
@@q.m9094 Yeah he's good but remember he only uploads the matches he does well in. He has been adopted by Alireza and Hikaru multiple times. If you go to Alireza's channel, you will see that a couple of weeks ago, Daniel got adopted
In blitz/bullet he is world class, but in classical I think Danya is still significantly weaker than these 2700+ OTB He has almost reached 2650 tho, so it is not like he can't go toe to toe and get a few points from them, but he's def not the favourite in a match
