Michael, my family and I just relocated here. Your videos and a zoom meeting we had with you helped us make an informed decision. We have been here for almost a week now, and watching this video is helping us gain our bearings. Thank you so much.
I live in Southern California and dedicated bicycle trails are all over. Irvine, California is just one place with extensive trails. Corvalis seems to have plenty of bicycle lanes and dedicated trails as well. Convenient proximity to such trails is a marketing feature for homes in specific neighborhoods for those looking for just that.
I learned about these areas when I participated in activities when i was a kid in school, like sports or volunteering. I got my drivers license in corvallis on my 16th birthday so i could probably have given a tour like a realtor by then, but a few years ago i brought a visitor to corvallis and drove the wrong direction on a one way street because it was a distraction during an already higher stress level index in general.
Thanks for your viewership, Sparlkefluff. We made a video recently about some of our favorite parks. If you haven’t seen it yet, please do check it out and comment as to which parks are you favs!
Battery assisted recumbent trikes are the future for all ages. Those college buildings will be made much easier to traverse with recumbent tadpole trikes. They will require larger lockers however. Check out the HP Velotechnik Scorpion FS Plus 26 Trike. Or the Catrike Dumont. Or the AZUB Ti-Fly. Professors and administrators need to learn about them.
I am only recently considering moving to a place like Corvalis, Oregon and riding my recumbent trike a certain percentage of days when the weather allows. A compromise can easily be made by cycling indoors with the rear wheel of the recumbent trike on a set of rollers. This whenever the weather is too wet outside.
Thanks for the great trip around that iconic old college town. I was there back in 1979-1982 getting my MS in geological oceanography and dreamed of living and working there. That being easier said than done though as it's ridiculously competitive job-wise and I've heard now even more so with trying to access a home within Corvallis itself! Then again, you've got both Intel and HP campuses there now beyond OSU being the largest area employer as well as many fed/state gubmint entities there as well like EPA, USGS, USDA, etc. Have heard many folks are going out Philomath way and beyond to get better pricing? We toured the town back a few years ago and man has the downtown really come into its own and swanked up! I was stunned to see that the 26th Street Superette was still there off Monroe and even got to eat at the hallowed Nearly Normals before it finally passed on into the annals of Corvallis eatery lore after 42 year in business.
Hi Steve- thanks for the feedback! Yes, you can get slightly better prices in philomath. I lived in philomath for almost five years after seeing a place we couldn’t pass up for the price. I’m here for you if you need anything and really appreciate your viewership!
As someone that is considering a move to Corvallis this video is a big help especially considering I may not be able to visit due to the on going COVID situation. My biggest concern though is there appears to be no affordable housing (something in the 200k range) and this will be a determining factor as to being able to take the job or not.
Hi Clinton, thanks so much for checking out our video and for the positive feedback. At this time (in Corvallis) there are Condo’s, townhomes, and some smaller starter homes that can still be found under $300k. It’s certainly a tight market, so I often help people get settled into rentals and even into philomath and Albany to get started, since the prices are quite different and you’re still right in the area. I would be happy to talk with you more about these options, and I’d love to know what job you are considering. Feel free to call or email tomorrow or Saturday if you happen to have time. 541 207 6074.
@@OregonRelocationGuides Great video I'm debating with myself whether I should stay in Corvallis or Eugene. I think I will visit Corvallis I didn't know it was north of Eugene. But I'm learning I grew up in Texas
I remember in the 2000's the computer geeks were saying like in the future they will do weird things here like they did in silicon valley california, like more wine and tech i guess
Great video, and very helpful in terms of providing a feel for the different Corvallis neighborhoods. Especially useful for people like us considering relocating there. Thanks for the time and effort that went in to making this video tour!
Thanks so much, Richard. I appreciate you watching it and providing feedback 😄. I’m happy to connect with you and learn more about where you might be coming from and what’s on your mind with the possible relocation. Feel free to be in touch!
Love this video! It really gives us a feel for the area. Please cover additional surrounding areas in future videos. We appreciate all of the information. 😊
Thank you! The narrated driving tour of Albany is being edited and will be ready in a month or two:). Just in case you haven’t seen it, there is already a driving tour playlist on the channel with a philomath driving tour and some other smaller ones. I really appreciate the feedback- we’ll keep working on these! Let us know if we can help you out or answer questions about the area:)
What an absolutely brilliant video, very well done! I’m currently in Newport, but I now know where to move if the weather gets to be too much and I know who I’m going to call.
Lol. I'm from New Zealand where its pretty scenic anyway - but I enjoyed your easy narration and drive-around so much I watched the whole thing without realising it! 🙂
This was so informative! Thank you so much for taking the time to film this. We would love to connect with you sometime. May be pointless right now as We probably won’t be relocating for another 1-2 years but Corvallis (or a surrounding city) is our number 1 at this time. My husband is an online student at OSU.
Thanks for checking us out and for the positive feedback, Michaella! I’d be happy to connect with you even if your possible move is a year or two away- that’s not a problem. Please feel free to drop me an email or call me. Michael@teamkrealty dot com
What’s a scratch and den grocery store? I couldn’t hear what you said. What did you just say? Grocery Outlet has cheapest grocery prices or actually affordable prices on groceries. You can’t always get what you want there, but still the most fun grocery store to shop at, cause you never know what you’ll find, bringing out your mysterious and adventurous spirit! They need to have grocery outlet nationwide!
Hi random exploring! Where I’m from we called them overstock or scratch and dent stores, where extra goods went or if the box got broken and the display wasn’t as nice. Maybe that’s not the right term for this. Yes- totally agree that it’s great having an affordable option around! I really enjoy their beverage selection. It’s like a treasure hunt and you never know what they’re going to have there. Thanks for checking out my video:)
I live in a suburb of phoenix called youngtown I'm selling my house as market tops out and relocating to get away from the Colorado River running out of water I was looking for a place where I could grow well and not much snow if any at all Sir you've been wonderful I love college towns like tempe here. And I'm hoping I can find stable work and land/house in Corvallis when the housing market crashes again lol
Cheers to your adventure and thanks for letting me know this has been helpful! I really appreciate your viewership. Hopefully our market gets less competitive, here. A balanced market would be much more humane for both buyers and sellers!
I'm going back to Eugene but Corvallis is really appealing I will travel there next yr. I do not like really cold climates. Portland is a lot colder and Eugene weather is similar. 7 Eleven is my stop they don't have and 7 elevens where I'm from
Thanks for leaving a comment! When you come up here I have self guided version of that driving tour that we’re working on - let me know if you want to connect!
Excellent video. Tyvm! I'm trying to talk my wife into... first, summer-vacationing in Corvallis... Then? Who knows. I'll give you a call if she bites. :)
Thanks for checking out our channel:). We’re happy to connect in advance of your first visit, someday. Be sure to check out our videos on bicycling in the area (I noticed your thumbnail). The valley is an outstanding place to be a cyclist!
