I had the laser surgery. Anyone seeing this video, do not worry at all getting it, I freaked myself out waiting the 3 weeks for the date. No pain what so ever. It is a laser that zaps a hole between 5 to 15 zaps depending on eye color and laser setting first eye took about 12 zaps and the next week the other eye took 7. Nothing to worry about, a very easy procedure.
What happens if a patient develops a 'ghost image' or shadow after having narrow angle laser surgery? I had surgery last year, and the ghost image remains. It's very distracting to my vision. How does this resolve itself?
The Lord is good to me! I was pretty fearful and apprehensive about having this done, but finding a video like this and doing my own research has helped me to understand why and what needs to be done. So like the psalmist David I will praise the Lord and replace my fear with faith in God: Psa 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. Psa 139:17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them! I feel like I can pray with my Dr now on Friday...
i had both eyes done yesterday in miami fl....only took bout 10 minutes for both eye just blurred vision and irated eyes as a side affect but was able to drivehome
Dr Khartor, thank you for such a clear explanation. I have a related question. I understand that people with narrow angles cannot take many medications such as Claritin, muscle relaxants or sleep medications. After laser surgery is it usually safe to take such meds?
Thank you Dr. This is so far the best explicative video I have seen to know what I am going to face in my surgery. I am having one tomorrow but nobody explained me much about it.
Vey nice presentation, thank you. I'm scheduled for Laser surgury on Wednesday (it's Sunday today!) and I was a bit worried about it. After watching this I'm relaxed about it now and will have it done. I was thinking about cancelling the op!! Thanks again.
Does the laser procedure provide a permanent solution or can the pressure buildup return after say 10 years. It did for my mother and she had to undergo traditional micro-surgery, which was very successful and lasted the rest of her life.
I was diagnosed with angle closure Two out of four My long distance vision is good I only wear glasses when I read All test were good my eye pressure was 17 I’m scared of doing the lazer treatment My question is If I leave it as it is how long before I loose my sight or develop Glaucoma
She needs to go back to school. The majority of people who have narrow angles and elevated iop (they develop together) will not respond to laser iridotomy. According to her everyone does and you will never have a closure. Anyone who doesn't respond to the iridotomy which is the majority of people will most likely have a closure if nothing else is done. Meaning you'll need a lens replacement.. and .. depending on how interested they are in finding out the mechanism will also need ancillary procedures because he even lens replacements don't always open up angles.. they only work for pupillary block.
