*Kia ora Liz, Paul & Ernie 🙂another fabulous video from you all 🙂 Happy belated 58th birthday Paul... I am sure that you got spoiled from Ernie and Liz 🙂 Yep I watched 'Little House on the Prairie' with Michael Landon playing the dad... a great series to watch. Also 'The Waltons' was great too. 🙂 Gee that canal was extremely narrow aye. Plus to get drenched as well.🙂 I love seeing the scenery & landscape.. it really shows how much do not see when traveling in or on any vehicles. Oh the little villages are so cute.. 🙂nz*
Hi Andrea, I agree travelling by canal is such a different viewpoint. I've been to many places by car and its such a different perceptive by boat. The Waltons, I remember....goodnight John boy😉 Hope you are doing well and the quotes have come in for your renovation 😊
@@uponreflection *Hi ya, yep I am doing well... Since I have time before the shower unit arrives... I must get onto getting the other tradie quotes done. We have a HUGE weather bomb coming in tonight and all day tomorrow... So hopefully no flooding will happen all over Auckland. But the council as usual have not swept the street gutters and road drains/grates and they are full of leaves...so the rain water will have no where to go...!!!.*
@@uponreflection *I hope so too. The council still haven't sorted out ALL the homes that were flooded a year ago... the owners are still waiting... and with every heavy rain, it just makes the stress levels go up even more.. The rain is coming down now!.*
Keep up you three a pleasure to watch ,happy birthday Paul and that was hell of a confession about the little house on the prairie,All the best to you all
Hiya you two. It was a real pleasure to meet up with you on the towpath today. Adam is gutted that he didn't know we were chatting and I was too starstruck to think of calling him out to say hello. Happy cruising👍
Lovely to meet you too. Unless you shooting off early tomorrow we may see you whilst walking Ernie before we go to the festival . Enjoy the rest of your holiday if we don't catch up again, I really do hope this weather cheers up for you both 😊
@@uponreflection shocking he didn't say he was outside talking to you both! I was on me hands and knees cleaning the floor with the cordless vacuum that numpty forgot to bring the pipe for 🙄 Currently at the pub having a well needed drink after going for a curry. Well I say 'drink' 😳
Thanks for the video full of fun and laughter even in the rain poor Ernie had to leave his new found friend. Many happy returns of the day Paul. Liz is doing better on the tiller well done Liz you can be the captain soon 😂😂. Stay safe guys, Ed 40 S of Vegas
Hi Ed, think it will be a few years before I can take that captains hat and if I'm honest who would I then blame for the scratches on the boat 🤣 have a fab week. See you next time 😊
Well I only watched the first one but I must say considering when it was produced it certainly had me hooked. Been told there are 204 episodes though so I doubt I'll watch all of them but may give a few more episodes a watch 😊
Happy birthday Paul . My dogs name was Poppy . Lost her two years back now . But did say to my wife no more pet dogs as it did take me a long time to get over the loss of her.
It's heart breaking when you lose a pet. We said no more after we lost our beloved black labrador. But my son convinced us as he said we gave our dog such a fab life so why not offer that to another dog hence why we ended up with little Ernie. Paul has said before that losing a pet is a time when you see a grown man cry. 🥰
Hope you had a great Birthday Paul 🎂🍺🍻 Remember Little House on the Praire well, loved it ❤ When we lived in Sandbach, Cheshire used to walk to our local post office past fields and there would be hundreds of frogs on the pavement. It was always so sad to see some of them squashed. I love frogs. Great vlog as usual 👍
I love your vlogs they are peaceful and lots of fun. Where I live In California it's been 40celsius already this year. Last year we had many days of 45.56 Celsius, not looking forward to this summer. I love British weather. Would move there in a minute if I could. Hugs to Ernie he's a good dog. See you next week! Janet
Hi Janet, wow that's some heat you have there. What are your winters like? Our seasons are lovely but it's just the rain of late that is getting to everyone, lands flooded, farmers fields ruined and unfortunately a further week of rain is predicted. Fingers crossed it brightens for us all soon. 😊
@@uponreflection I live just below the Sierra mountains, elevation around 10,000 feet. Last 3 winters have had over 20-25 feet of snow and lots of rain and wind in the lower elevations. So climate change affecting California especially during the summer months. We don’t get the seasons like other places, snow and rain in the winter and very hot during summer. Again thanks for your lovely vlogs and your English weather to watch.
Love the vlog. I used to watch Little House on the Prairie, I just loved it. I also watched the Waltons, sounds like Paul and myself are little older than you Liz. Just love the parting shot of Ernie😂 My husband did not watch Little House on the Prairie, he thought it was "Rubbish"😂
Hi guys. Thanks for the video.. As always it helps make my day. So nice to see Ernie making friends. I know I say it every time but it makes me so happy to see you include Ernie as much as you do. All that's left is to get him drinking tea when you have one LoL!!! THanks again for making my day. Please stay safe.
@@uponreflection Oh that's so nice. The reason I made that comment ,was the way Ernie was looking at the two cups there!! Almost like where's mine???. I'm happy that was a good memory. Thank you all for your videos. Please stay safe.
I really feel that I've missed out by not watching it now, everyone has written raving comments about the show. I just need to find enough time to watch the remaining 203 episodes to catch up with you all 🤣😊
Good evening Liz Paul and Ernie yes that was my boat as you left Norbury 👍. Bless Ernie and Poppy they make a great coupe dancing around together its a bit of puppy love, Poppy is a lovely dog she always knows that l have a pocket of treats. Well guys you definitely had me in stitches tonight what a excellent vlog. I remember Little House on the Prairie its a classic but l have found another series Paul on YT "Get some in", surely you must remember it or is it just me showing my age but the old ones are the best😂😂. I'm glad your still enjoying the Shropshire Union 😊 all the best Simon & Earl
Hi Simon, Paul's not heard or doesn't remember 'get some in' but he's going to have a little look when he can tear himself away from all his narrowboating vlogs 🤣 Ernies made a few friends since Norbury on out travels but non that match the connection he had with little poppy 😉😊
Hi Jackie, the bridges are amazing aren't they, they really help to show just how deep these cuttings we are travelling through are. Fingers crossed for the nicer weather. Although according to the app we have about 8days of rain coming 🤨 thanks for watching 😊
A captivating video. Quiet, picturesque country side. The photogenic couple with their faithful dog, braving the weather to explore the canals. Couldn't be better.
It was probably the scariest part of our whole journey so far going through that cutting Trevor, I'm just so glad we didn't meet a boat coming the other way. 😊
Little House on the Prairie what a classic feel good series. I grew up watching it. Great to watch on a miserable wet afternoon. 1974-1983 nine series 204 episodes 3 movies. Happy belated birthday 🎉
Hi Lee, was it as overgrown in 2010, I'd love to see how it's changed over the years. Did you find it all looks quite the same now or has a lot changed?😊
Good night Ernie and liz and Paul I hope Paul had a good birthday today how's Ernie doing I hope you are all well and enjoying your adventures aboard your narrow boat I love you and your adventures on your narrow boat I love watching your videos of you and your adventures aboard your narrow ❤ please keep up the good work up on your videos on your you tube channel please keep safe and warm say happy birthday to Paul for me
Well, congrats are due, Paul! I bet Erns had a few brews lined up for you! Plus you are on a beautiful stretch of canal there, otherworldly. Loved this week’s vlog! ❤🐕❤️

🤣 If you need a toad 🤣🤣 love it. Fourth attempt, some would say the ones that don't pass first time are the better drivers a...clearly we had more practise so....🤣🤣
Great vlog guys, glad Ernie enjoyed his pigs ear thanks for the mention 😊Such a special guy. As for Little House on the Prairie, one of my favourites. Really enjoy your vlogs keep pootling
Thanks Mandy, I'm glad you wrote a comment as I didn't catch your name at Crick, I was all in a bit of a tiss🤣 so lovely to hear that you enjoy our vlogs and thank you so much for watching 😊
Great video Woodseaves cutting gets worse it is a challenge. I used to love Little House on the Prairie too. Clive has given in his notice and we shall be continuous cruising ourselves soon. Hopefully meet up with you somewhere on the network.
Happy belated birthday Paul! :) Little house on the prairie??? Seriously! That was for girls lol, To be honest i've been a Dr Who fan all my life till now (sigh!). Don't mention Cadburys I was the operations controller for Cadburys for 20 yrs sick of bloody chocolate lol :) Your up norf now Paul The sign was for beware of the frogs even they'll mug ya! haha:) Always a smile when you post, the love for the canals is always evident in your video's. And here's me thinking all cockneys were like those depressing narky characters in Eastenders lol :)
Get out my pub....that's what a depressing Cockney Eastender would say to you 🤣 What a job, working for Cadburys, I'd have loved that job, either to enjoy the chocolate or to be put off by it 😊 win win 🤣🤣
Hi Neil, the high bridges along it really give you an insight to how deep that Woodseaves cutting is. Fascinating area but quite daunting to travel through, just glad we didn't meet a boat coming the other way. 😊
Hi guys Great video good Ernie got himself girlfriend (family planning clinic time) Little house on prairie good memories You both stay safe and well and of course Ernie 🦮🦮👍👍
We saw you at Crick but I had my Rottie with me, who was experiencing mass crowds for the first time, so he was a little manic.... Boy was it busy Saturday,
Argh bless, Ernie found it a struggle at times too. It was busy wasn't it. I think everyone chose to go on the Saturday after looking at the weather forecast for the other days 😊
A really great phone app I use to identify plants and trees in called "Picture This". There's a yearly subscription and I can't remember how much it is off the top of my head but it's not very much really. Oh, and with Liz being in her early 30's of course she wouldn't know about Little House on the Prairie. How an old man like Paul landed such a pretty young lady I'll never know. 😜😄 Just joking 😂but, you guys do make a great couple. Thanks, and take care.
Thanks so much for joining us again on our adventures. We are very well thanks, hope you have a good week yourself and hopefully see you back here next week 😊
hey guys we here in oz finading it that the areas of Autumn, spring etc the weather here is all over the place......... I still have balckberries on my bush and it's May/June...... crap we are now into winter......My carroets and Potatoes will be coming up soon...
@@uponreflection YOUR A GREAT COUPLE WITH MUCH LOVE DEREK AND JULIE OH YEA JULIE SAID ITS SO TRUE WHAT YOU SAID ABOUT WOMEN SHE SAYS YOU DRIVE THE BOAT JUST GREAT SHE SAYS YOUR VERY CLEVER SO THERE TA GO DID HE HAVE A FEW COLD BEERS FOR HIS B DAY LOVE DEREK JULIE
Hi Joan thanks so much for watching and for the birthday wishes. Ernies met a few new friends since this video but still non compare to his favourite poppy. Bless him 😊
My Mother tells a great story about little house on the prairie She was watching in the 1970s the Doctor who lived next door rang the door bell She answered the door in floods of tears as a baby had died on the show The Doctor was rightly concerned about mother’s health as she could get the words out why she was crying all she was mumbling about a baby dying He thought it was one of us had snuffed it
What a fab story, your mums next door neighbour doctor must have been a little worried at the time..although in telling this story you've told me what happens in the upcoming ones I've yet to see 🤣🤣 spoiler alert🤣🤣 I'm joking of course, as I doubt I will ever return to watch the rest of them 😉😊
I've often thought a enterprising land owner next to a canal should dig a canal leading in to their land and put some "hook ups" like a CL for caravans and charge accordingly for winter..im sure some twat in the council will find a reason to say no!!!.❤️🇬🇧
Dear Liz, Paul and Ernie Liz what is the name of the music which is playing around the 9:50 mark in this video? I have heard it in past vlogs and find the tune really catchy. How do you and Paul keep narrow boat Assumption looking so good? The paint work always looks as if it is brand new. Never a rust mark on her and always so shiny. Take care and looking forward to next week. Mark Alberta, Canada
Hi Mark, the amount of rain we've had keeps her clean 🤣 as for the music, let me have a look when I next get the laptop out and I'll get back to you. 😊
