5:35 when Itachi tells Sasuke about the Uchiha meeting place, this was when Sasuke had awakened Sharingan because he was able to read some of the inscriptions, but we don't see until a flashback in shippuden that Sasuke awakened Sharingan that night

@@quentinjones6877 Broo i can't believe there are still guys like this. The massacre of the Uchiha clan was ultimately Itachi's decision, Danzo was for it true, but until Itachi told him that they have to do it he wasn't sure 100%. This is a very complex situation for Sasuke (you can compare it to real life as well) and his anger, vengeance and hatred is definitely justified, but in the end will that kind of justice really bring him peace in the end? Really sad, but every path he would have chosen after knowing the truth wouldn't be wrong (looking from his perspective only ofcourse).

People were far too quick to forgive Itachi in Shippuuden, I think. Yeah, he did what he did for Sasuke's benefit. That's intent. Intent doesn't justify the horrors of reality. I know he had help from Obito during the massacre, but he killed his own parents. Bear in mind that while his relationship with the father was strained, his mother had been nothing but loving and supportive to her sons in every scene she's shown in. He then made his younger bother watch the murder multiple times through Tsukoyomi. He put his younger brother on a self-destructive path that actively sabotaged his growth into a well-adjusted person with healthy relationships. His younger brother then committed crimes for which he's still atoning as an adult. "I'll pay for my actions with my own life" doesn't justify anything. Him dying didn't un-murder anyone or un-traumatize his brother. I like Itachi a lot as a character and part of the series narrative, but he's definitely burning in hell. I know he was trying to stop the coup and what-not, but I also think his rationale in how he went about it was that of a straight up psychopath. Like, if you think about it, what he did would've probably not been your plan A.

It's because you view murder as solely a crime and hatred as solely a stumbling block, But let me tell you, hatred can be just as virtuous and a guide to truth the same way love can. The path of hatred did guide Sasuke to truth in exactly the same way the path of love guided Naruto. For in the beginning Sasuke was given love that he had to walk the path of hatred, in the same way that Naruto was given hatred that he had to walk the path of love. Really what Itachi did to Sasuke was no different from what Minato did to Naruto. And as far as forgiveness goes, Itachi never sought forgiveness, hence he is worthy of it.

If Hiruzen were to send the entire ANBU and Jounin force against the Uchiha clan, effectively outing them as betrayers of the village, then Sasuke would be as shunned and hated as Naruto was for being the son of the mastermind behind the coup (Fugaku); 2. Dialogue, parlay with the Uchiha clan? They're way past that option, you think Hiruzen hasn't tried all he could? All in all, it's an impossible situation, and Itachi knew that his taking the fall for the clan would be the least damaging for the village and his brother. The Uchiha clan signed their own death warrant already.
