Kishimoto wanted us to believe he is the antagonist but in all actuality, we all know all too well Madara was more of an anti-villain than anything. He wanted stuff for the greater good the only way knew best, Kaguya just played him more
I thought Toneri was pretty badass too. Although we didn't see much of Kaguya's sons in action vs Kaguya, other than the Susanoo and Chibaku Tensei dual sealing, the other ones who were totally badass were Sasuke with the beast chakra-infused susanoo and Toneri in 6 paths sage mode
