It can. The issue is. Sakura when healing uses a lot of chakra which makes her become weaker. For example when she was a young genin. She healed the time traveler (Sasuke Uchiha). But fainted because of loosing to much energy. Of course she can heal herself. But it takes a while and she might even collapse while healing.
Sakura's death would really depress the charecters and then there we have those stupid insta and tiktok users making reels if Sakura died they would dance
