The .M4A version contains metadata such as artists, album, and cover. Making it a more practical listening experience. I would upload as .FLAC but the original audio is already lossy, being 288kbps, so it would be a waste of space and internet.
The .WEN version contains the original game files if you're going for 100% accuracy. You can listen to it with foobar2000 and you might need to install an additional component too, I don't remember the name exactly but it's not hard to find.
In this case, an official release of the soundtrack would be much better because some songs are split into two different files, the intro and the loop. It's pretty rare to see an AAA game doing this, it's probably because of the Unreal Engine and the Wwise encoding. Compressing the audio to 288kbps also seemed very amateur, as they could have used a better audio format with loop points and compression such as .adx and .hca which are the formats CC2 always used.
