"Brilliant" isn't the word i'd use. More like executed badly every single time, it's unrealistic to actually think one teen could be so persuasive (sort of like a messiah, lol) that he'd make full-blown revolutionaries with decades of experience change their entire ideology just by talking. That's not how the real world works, even freakin' Dragon Ball knew to teach kids that sometimes bad guys won't listen to words, that there are people beyond redemption, and there are crimes that can't be forgiven.

Fullmetal alchemist, legend of the galactic heroes, HxH, Monster, and the list goes on, are all anime as well and they don't have any laughable plot devices like Naruto's talk-no-jutsu. Any work of fiction that attempts to tackle adult themes such as the concept of war, politics, terrorism, humanity, the cycle of hatred and so on is supposed to treat these subjects with realism and respect. If they don't, it's a complete thematical failure.

Madara has an innate aura he cast on himself a long time ago called "i-don't-give-a-fuck No-Jutsu" He needed it to battle hashirama's talk-no-jutsu but it left him open to Hashirama's Stab-No-Jutsu
It’s not that simple. Each villain in the story is twisted due to a particular set of experiences. They were people with ideals like Naruto who changed their ways when their beliefs were challenged. Naruto understands on some level what they go through and because of that, he’s able to convince them that there’s another way. He’s able to do it because he undergoes similar experiences without breaking like they do or becoming jaded and bitter. That’s not easy to pull off. It’s not very different from Luffy in some ways.

Seeing Naruto go through similarly painful experiences without cracking can turn them to an extent. In Nagato’s case, he sees Naruto experience loss like he did. He saw Hinata die in front of him like Nagato did Yahiko. It takes something to stick to your beliefs when the chips are down. It’s easy to sprout ideals when they work for you. Not as easy to defend them when they fail you. This is what really sets Naruto apart. They might exaggerate a little but I would be amazed if you were unable to convince certain people just by standing your ground. It won’t work for everyone but you can’t say it wouldn’t work at all in real life

The raikage's reaction was the best. He's not easily convinced especially as serious as an attempted asassination. The fact he at least responded meant he was still affected by naruto begging and didn't just walk away like some ignorant leader. He just had to get revenge for his brother by killing sasuke.
I am surprised how little people point out the fact that Naruto practices what he preaches. Few people really notice that Naruto only pulls Talk no Jutsu after winning. In the ninja world, when you win, you either humiliate or kill your oponent. Naruto uses talk-no-Jutsu. And doing that (Plus having your bones broken) is enough to at least sit down and listen.

We make fun of it, but, the theme of the show Jiraiya even stated is ppl can’t understand each other. Conflict, tragedy war…could all be avoided if we had empathy. Patience, introspection and communication and WANTING TRUE PEACE.
He beat the shit out of everyone he used TNJ on, though (well, not Zabuza, but Kakashi had that handled so it still counts)? That's fairly sensible writing all things considered tbh. It's a lot easier to make someone reflect when they're not trying to kill you.
I mean all of these guys who were placed under naruto s talk no jutsu were shinobi who lost their way and went through a lot of dramatic experiences which naruto couldn t comprehend entirely. Naruto almost lost his way for a moment during the fight against ten tails obito and madara, he also lost control and fell into a big depression during the fight against pain becouse he didn t have an answer to pain s question “how would you bring peace in a world like this”. He was lucky becouse his enemy still had emphaty and regret which is very strange considering that a lot of enemies which naruto fought were mass murderers and considered to pe psychopaths

God, watching Naruto talk no jutsu Nagato makes me cringe & get irrationally annoyed by how unbelievably stupid & naive it is. The Pain arc could’ve been such a fantastically tragic arc that changed the status quo and truly developed characters and the surrounding world moving forward. A real paradigm shift would’ve been interesting. Instead we get the villain literally killing himself and reviving everyone thus undoing EVERYTHING we spent hours watching. Imagine if this story didn’t pussy out and actually had consequences? Imagine if characters actually acted like rationale human beings for a change? Naruto is the biggest missed opportunity in anime.
U clearly never understood the actual themes of naruto. If the pain arc ended like u said it would contradict all the prior themes of the show and it would mean Naruto’s dream would end there. THANK GOD you weren’t the one who wrote naruto since u think being edgy automatically equals good writing without actually knowing what the themes of the show are. To go along with the themes of the show. And to prove that peace throughout the shinobi world can be achieved this conclusion to the arc was perfect from a writing standpoint. @@jeshuavega4846 Hey, agree to disagree man. However, I recommend two videos that explain the reasoning behind Talk no Jutsu. Mathwiz’s in defense of talk no jutsu and Oceanix’s Naruto’s first arc is amazing. Basically, they both conclude Naruto villains fold so easily because they contradict themselves in some way shape or form. Their words don’t actually reflect their true emotions. By using the Talk No Jutsu, Naruto essentially forces his adversaries to realize their contradictions, that’s why they fold so easily. Take Zabuza for example, he says that he sees shinobi as nothing more than tools, yet he weeps for Haku after Naruto talk no jutsu’ s him.
How is it that everyone he used talk no jutsu execpt sasuke and gaara have either died or become disabled 1. Jiraiya died 2. Nagato died 3. Obito died 4. Raikage disabled 5. Dark Naruto disappeared
Naruto has a diplomatic skill’s better than everyone .. taught us that tongue is more better than every ultimate jutsu hehehe 😊 .. then he’s born as a leader since a child
You know it’s these friendship speeches that prevented Naruto from becoming about as dark as Berserk. If Naruto wasn’t so unrealistically idealistic, the story would be about as bleak.
