Why did you mentioned that you didn't have a local SIM card (I mean, not literally but... you mentioned that you had no signal that means - no roaming from the Estonian side of you British SIM - that means no local SIM card)? Didn't you visit Russia 2 times before? It was a good time to buy the local one? BTW, there is no problem on exporting your local SIM card outside Russia :) it might me reasonable for people visiting Russia once and doesn't seem to be there next year or so, but for you, due to the nature of your visits you should have your own local SIM card with you. Moreover, every Russian-based service (i.e. Avito, etc.) becomes fully accessible with a local SIM card. Probably for you, as a frequent visitor, it has even more sense to open an account and issue a local bank card to pay local services (food, transport, etc.)
Hey thanks a lot to share your experience. Is it possible to cross this border by car or restoration works are still blocking the possibility to cross by car ? :) Thanks in advance for your return !
Hi there. Thanks for your comment. Unfortunately the bridge will be closed for 2 years for vehicles. However you can get buses like the lux Express and Ecoline to the border. And there are buses on the other side to continue this journey. You would need to look on the website of these coaches to see. I hope this answer helps. Maybe I will gather more information and make a small video about this
@@BritishChef436 Thanks a lot for your answer ! oh it's a bad news because we need to cross the border from UE to Russia by car with a dog this summer. I'll check if there are not some other checkpoints not far from without too much waiting time :)
@AllBrams You can see if you can still drive through the border in Latvia. There are other borders to cross in Estonia, too. But I'm not sure about them
