After that run with Hit-Boy Nas could have taken as much time as he needed. Now we're getting a full album with Premo? Most legendary comeback in hip hop history.
I’m still wondering if they actually have an album ready or they just tryna check the temperature on the low. Tbh I feel like Nas wasn’t THAT Down bad to comeback much but his run this decade is astonishing 👏🏾
@@d.roberts8252guys, keep shouting at Nas. He will do the album. Let him know the joint was loved. Gimme another run like that Hit Boy run with Premo for 2024 and I can retire myself a happy man
@@behtashbahador6588 And who’s above him?? Can’t be biggie, has no body of work to even compare. Can’t be jayz,. Jayz out sold him and that’s about all he did. Every other aspect of hip hop nas proved superior. And obviously in the head to head, nas murdered him on various freestyles before ether. So who’s left? Eminem? lol , lil Wayne? 2nd greatest to who? Tupac ? Lmao?
@@WawaMarvel Nas is light-years ahead of all those dudes. And he is also light-years behind the true GOAT, who either closely matches or far exceeds Nas across several applicable measures, which include, but are not limited to: originality, adaptability (across multiple genres not just hiphop), traditional influence (i.e. impact on the future generations of the genre), technical ability (including vocal cadence, singing ability, musical arrangement, rhythmic arrangement, etc), career longevity, overall output quantity and (more importantly) quality, success (commercial, industrial, and otherwise), listener engagement, live performance, storytelling, social responsibility (strictly in terms of musical content), etc. Again, Nas scores extremely highly on a number of those measures, but the true GOAT scores about equally or way higher on a few very important ones. The true GOAT is not slowing down at all, so there will be no closing the gap for Nas or anyone currently in the broad discussion. Maybe someone young or yet to be born can do it, but as of now there just doesn't seem to be anyone who measures up when you actually review the criterion and analyze objectively
@@behtashbahador6588 Nicely phrased, you are clearly a smart dude, but find your balls and drop the name. :) We won't bite.. ok I can't promise that, but I won't bite :)
There isnt enough flowers on this planet to give Dj Premier & Nas. what a music right here a u t h e n t I c v i e w s dun took Nas oFf 2 da big leagues and fo dat I will always be super grateful
Nas is refusing to let the world say Kendrick j Cole and Eminem are better. We are watching a living legend continuing to master his craft as he ages. Never take Nas for granted.
You're both correct....a King doesn't have to walk amongst his flock...but...he still decides to bless them with the wisdom that shows...not proves...why he reigns supreme. "I can walk in any spot and every box be soaking" The dopest lyrics can be...seen...as soon as they drop...and every ear is.....jealous.
The thing is Eminem is actually just as talented lyrically and can rap faster. But Nas is the king of lyrical storytelling along with ghost face killah. That's just my opinion though everyone should just enjoy the music.
It brings out the New York vintage side of Nas for sure. But Premo needs to step up and update his sound a lil more if it's going to work. The beat is decent but nothing classic
@@jamalmatthews1357 its also nice ive noticed this type of production kinda got its own lane again that's big.. in terms of like alchemist and benny the butcher and all that
This man was light years ahead of his time and he still is light years ahead in this modern era. Real Hip Hop stands the test time, everything else called rap is garbage.
That naga Nas said “from a time where weed was stronger…the streets are calmer”…. U gotta be from the Hood for real to get that. Gentrification slowed shit down across the Country for better or worse . Nas the best Rapper in the “Gam3”
@@melvinhhcp3615 do your own research first kid , this way you ruining pac legacy , you either a kid who got hooked up on Pac from popularity or older dude stuck in the past , either way you don't care about rap
@@casteltheghettomonk4392 Fall back son. I'm probably older than you, plus you liked your own comment, which automatically indicates clown behavior. Do better...
Man that line was dope Preemo, 30 years later we back again damn. Primo, you got the beats, I got the rhymes yes that’s pure soulful love for the legend’s ❤
@@king-ghost1027 yeah it kinda is. Way less people excited for a Preem/Nas album in 2024 than there woulda been in 2004. It’ll get some props here and there from heads but it would’ve been an EVENT back then. Too much time wasted….
@@jazef2310not premo’s best by far but he’s still one of the greatest producers of all time & I expect much better music since they have classic songs together.
He was supposed to drop an album with preme on the beats .. the album was gonna be called NY giants .. preme has been on almost all of Nas albums .. NY state of mind is preme all 3 versions and they were 🔥
Yo the way Primo started spittin' and said ayo wtf am I doing?" isn't a shot at beat makers trying to rap now but he's acknowledging how hysterical it is, and he's dead right
Hip hop & rap are 2 different things. Trap is (c)rap. Nas has ALWAYS been hip hop. DJ Premier has ALWAYS been hip hop. Today, anyone can rap. Today, anyone can call themselves a DJ. Hip hop? Whole diff level many will NEVER reach. Salute....
@@thingshappen4062... I CAN RELATE, ... FOR ME, KEEPING IT REAL, IS KIND OF WEAK, KEEPING IT RIGHT, IS MORE PRECISE, DIRECT, SPECIFIC & ACTUAL.... BECAUSE I'M SURE INDIVIDUALS WEAR REAL FAKE HAIR, THAT'S NOT RIGHT! BUT MAJORITY WILL ALWAYS HAVE AN EXCUSE WITH NO ACCOUNTABILITY!...
dem·a·gogue noun a political leader who seeks support by appealing to the desires and prejudices of ordinary people rather than by using rational argument.
Same thing I was thinking. I have studied Nas sales/views/numbers over a 20 year time frame, and this is like the fastest he has gotten over half a million views on a song, not a video. This really means people really starving for a Nas and Premier album, and this has me excited.
PRIMO + NAS = NYC HIP HOP (since 1994) ...simply INCREDIBLE! Bro...this nigga came out when i was 20yrs old Now im 50...he truly half/Man half/Amazing 😂
Used to be the big three Nas biggie and Jay z The question has been answered is definitely Nas all day I don't know if the brother just been eating good food drinking water and meditating and reading the Bible and praising yahuah but his flows, his voice everything crystal clear and beautiful. His last few albums have been his greatest work All his work is great in classics but these these have been spectacular untouchable.
Can’t wait for uk tour ! Wanted to see nas live for over 30 years ! I fumbled the bag a few years back and that’s not happening this time ! And ordered the 7” of this track ! Can’t wait till I get it !!!
Age is irrelevant. Even though for some reason in hip hop, we act like there's an age limit,it isn't. Look at other genres. No one ever told The Rolling Stones or Stevie Wonder that they're too old.
The beat kicked in & my head started to nod, then scratchin' with the cuts gave me the chills, then Nas started to rap & I started tearin' up...I missed you Hip Hop. 🥹
People talk about Tupac or Biggie or Kendrick or Kanye being the best but they only ever had the crown because this man allowed it. There is no one better. The real King of Hip Hop.
With all respect, he peaked on ‘halftime’, you will never have a rawer , more hungrier and uncut version of Nas. There is no follow up after that nuclear blast.
Nas is epic. He is not underrated in fluid terms. He's only underrated from mumble rappers. Nas is really smart. He got his money, he has his fame, he has accolades, his records behind his name, his other ventures, his legacy. Point blank. Nas is dangerous to any artist out now. Then, and now. I kept it simple. It's the truth, and I'm sticking with it. God bless you Nas.
releasing this song was a smart move. giving us a chance to adjust our ears to a different sound. Having done the last 6 albums with Hit it is a huge shift to Premo sonically
