As I recall, Nas wrote this song at the request of his Mother, who had asked that he release an inspirational song for children before she passed away. This was him fulfilling his promise to do so. For someone who writes such deep raps with integral stories, it shows the man's talent that he can compose something so simple yet meaningful.

I have no idea how to improve my English since the text book is too difficult for me to understand. One day I heard this song in a burger restaurant, I liked it so much so I told myself said: one day, I will able to understand everything in this song.
