This feels more superior than KD1, and I love this album. With Nas’ new sequel it makes me appreciate him as MC, and his ear for Hit-Boy’s beats. It’s a dope project. This is coming from someone who wasn’t around for Illmatic and It Was Written.

Yeah Nas one of my favorite emcees he blessed us with a worthy sequel continue to grow and evolve as an entrepreneur, businessman, artist to the fullest extent. He hasn't missed a beat songs like Rare, the pressure, YKTV, nobody with an Emphatically epic Lauryn hill verse very hard to get a feature from her. EPMD in the building they killed it, Charlie Wilson had moments to shine.

Yea I loved this album man. Album of the year so far for me. Right up there with Skyzoo’s All The Brilliant Things. My only gripe was 40 side. Wasn’t really a fan of how he was rapping on that. And he could’ve left Em off EPMD 2. He messed up the vibe on it and he wasn’t rapping about shit (nobody cares about you having cocaine and lean Marshall). Other than that, this album was fire. Best Nas project since Hip Hop is Dead imo
@Powerule23

I have the same impression. I'm not crazy about 40 Side, and I've been skipping over Em.
@TheRealLeonardWashington
@TheRealLeonardWashington 3 года назад
@@Powerule23 yea I really tried to make myself like 40 side but each time I hear it I don’t like it even more. Sometimes Nas misses the mark when he tries to switch up his flow. A prime example of that was “Big Things” on the I Am album. I swear I skip that song every time I put I Am on. I hate the fast pitched flow he used on that. Just didn’t fit the album. Similar to 40 side on KD2

Hey Luke James, My Bible was one of the tracks that really caught my attention sonically. And as always, Nas will come with the bars lyrically no disputing that at all. But I think the begining of this album, the beats were weak, although it picks up later on during the latter end of the album. And I think he gave Benny the Butcher better beats on Burden of Proof. All together, I prefer this kings disease than the very first one to me, as I never went back to it after one listen.

About the passing on ideas to the next generation, I'll bring up a sports example here. Kobe said he learned so much from Bill Russell, Jerry West and Michael Jordan, they passed on so much knowledge to him so he felt obligated to pass his knowledge onto the next generation. That's one of many things I really admire about Kobe besides his well known relentless work ethic. Also how he really respected the history of the game and was committed to helping the next generation.

Loved this album! Great review man as always. I think this one is slightly better than the first kings disease. The only tracks I couldn’t really get into is EPMD 2, mainly because of the aimless run on verse from Em and the repetitive siren beat. YKTV i wasn’t really feeling too. All the other tracks I’ve had on repeat. Appreciate you reviewing another Nas album on my birthday.

hey luke! By any chance have you considered giving Pi’erre Bourne’s music a spin? Im just gonna say off the bat that you may not critically like it the way you like your raps, he isn’t the most lyrical, and i will understand if things can sound off to you abt his style. but i just hope one day you’ll give TLOP5 and even TLOP4 a try because pi’erre makes the most childlike, carefree, optimistic, uplifting music ever in rap and i just hope you capture and understand the essence and spirit of his music and you don’t even have to love it because man… TLOP5 is my favorite album of all-time now. Yes, just like that. I have listened to thousands of rap albums in my life and who would’ve known Pi’erre fuckin Bourne would be the one for me.

@@lukejamesbgnDo You know there will be a part 2 to the Hoffa album as well? East spoke about it recently during an interview with DJ first class. But I will like the Arrab Muzik or V Don collab tape to drop first before Hoffa 2, as the snippets from those upcoming projects, are better than most of the tracks on this Hoffa project. He is rapping on more grimy beats. But this is just my opinion, and I think karma 3 was better than this project lyrically and sonically to an extent to me. EPMD 2 Tracks not that good and they missed a trick not having Sermon do the beat or at least co produce it . Their are better tracks on the album like Moments . Store Front . Nas Is Good .Nobody. The Pressure & My Bible . EPMD 2 . 40 Side . YKTV are the underwhelming tracks for me . Beats are marketed for today’s crowd, so i guess he was just branching out with younger generation like he did on first one, on a few songs, good album , i much prefer the soulful and jazzy beats on here.
