I'm tired of people not putting Nas where he deserves to be. He is a living legend. He is the best to ever do it. Name another more influential emcee?? Jay may have a bigger following now but none of his albums have reached the level of illmatic or it was written. In terms of Legends to rap there and are STILL ALIVE...Nas reigns supreme, yes over Dre, Snoop, Ice Cube, Rakim etc.

It would be redundant if NaS comin back wasn't so much fuckin fun. I honestly got to a point where I was just "fuck the 90's man, things need to grow where they're going, enough with this 'every one should try and remake Illmatic' BS". Then, this album kind of blindsided me, not only cus its classic, new, raw, and fresh all at once, but cus I realized how much I miss this sound, how much rap used to make me pay attention. So for me, it's not redundant, he made a classic vibe sound fresh again

Dre was around before their was even a game, he worked with pac, ice cube snoop, NWA and em and made them all legends. Dre has been around as far back as the late 80's. I Agree Nas shit's on Snoop, Rakim and even Ice cube but Dre is a fuckin Relic maybe not as a rapper but a veteran producer. He's a true king.

“God First,” that’s right! He is the creator of all things yes including NAS. When you are talking about being a vessel for God it’s appropriate to give him all of the credit. It’s not wise to take some of the credit. Give yourself credit without mentioning God and yourself in the same sentence. NAS is still a king though! 🤴😎❤️

Its nothing wrong with doin ya commercial thing,cus u cant be underground or stay the same forever.Jus as long as u not going OVERBOARD,& gettin too comfortable & forgetting where u come from & what made u.Rappers always like sayin they "just being versatile", but when ur music is just nothing but pop..ye u SOLD DA FUCK OUT!

personally, i think giving singles for the clubs and then having the rest of the album "Real hip hop" is the definition of selling out. You made your singles commercial to get the album sales. Not only is that selling out, I'd be dissapointed. It'd give me the wrong impression of the rapper and I'd get an album I probably won't like. I'd rather have the artist give there style for the singles

@rajones55
@rajones55 11 лет назад
Thats not a good thing necessarily, I thought it was cool at first too but you'll get somewhere way faster with your own unique original sound rather then a regurgitation of a past sound. Eminem was criticized for sounding too much like Nas and AZ on his first shit, thats why his first album was a flop on all levels.
@T14JM
@T14JM 11 лет назад
Dre's a DJ. Nas is a rapper. They aren't even in the same game, you can't compare them. Dre isn't that good of a rapper and I'd have to guess that Nas wouldn't be as good a producer as Dre.

first of all dre is a really bad rapper his albums were more than 70% ghost written, and in NWA Ice Cube wrote all the lyrics. dre is just a dope producer and you can't compare a producer to a rapper. there is just no ground for comparing. nas is no producer just as dre is no rapper. both are at the top of their business
