Scientists have made an exciting discovery in the search for life beyond Earth.
According to the latest findings of NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope has discovered the presence of methane and carbon dioxide while observing exoplanet K2-18b, along with dimethyl sulphide (DMS).
ANU Astrophysichist and Cosmologist Brad Tucker said the discovery was "exciting" as dimethyl sulphide is a substance only produced by living things.
"Now it’s a very weak signal but dimethyl sulphide is a compound essentially methane, so carbon and hydrogens and sulfur," he told Sky News Australia.
"On earth, we only really know this molecule to be produced by life forms, particularly things in the ocean plankton and it’s a byproduct they give off.
"So this is kind of quite exciting."

K2-18b is an exoplanet located about 124 light-years away in the constellation Leo. It was discovered in 2015 and is notable for having water vapor in its atmosphere. It orbits the red dwarf star K2-18 and is considered to be within the habitable zone, making it a subject of interest for researchers studying potentially habitable exoplanets.

Certainly. K2-18b orbits its host star, K2-18, in what is known as the "habitable zone," an area where conditions might be right for liquid water to exist. The planet is about 2.6 times the radius of Earth and has a mass that is roughly 8 times greater than Earth's. It's classified as a "mini-Neptune" due to its size and atmospheric composition. One of the most exciting discoveries about K2-18b came in 2019 when researchers found signs of water vapor in its atmosphere. This was a significant milestone in exoplanet research because it was one of the first times that water vapor had been detected in an exoplanet's atmosphere that also lies within the habitable zone of its star. However, it's important to note that the presence of water vapor doesn't necessarily mean the planet is habitable like Earth. The atmosphere of K2-18b is likely to be quite thick and rich in hydrogen, which would make conditions very different from those on Earth. Overall, K2-18b is considered one of the most intriguing exoplanets because it offers a unique set of conditions that researchers can study to better understand the diversity of planetary systems and the potential for life elsewhere in the universe.

The discovery of K2-18b is significant for several reasons. First, it's one of the few exoplanets found in the habitable zone of its star, where conditions might allow for liquid water. Second, the detection of water vapor in its atmosphere adds another layer of interest, as water is essential for life as we know it. The planet serves as a valuable data point for understanding planetary formation, atmosphere dynamics, and the potential habitability of planets beyond our solar system. It gives scientists the opportunity to study an exoplanet that has some Earth-like characteristics but is also very different in other ways. Studying K2-18b and similar exoplanets helps refine our models and theories about how planetary systems form and evolve. It also provides a target for future observations with more advanced telescopes, both ground-based and in space, to further investigate its atmospheric composition and other characteristics. In essence, K2-18b offers a glimpse into the variety and complexity of planetary systems in our galaxy, helping us better understand the potential for life elsewhere in the universe.

Even with our fastest spacecraft to date, it would take tens of thousands of years to reach K2-18b, which is 124 light-years away. For example, the Voyager 1 spacecraft, launched in 1977, is traveling at about 17 km/s and it would take more than 70,000 years to reach a star that's just 4 light-years away. So, reaching K2-18b with current technology is not feasible.

That's the plot. That's why they make us believe ridiculous things like the space ball. Earth is a closed system.

Physics and time as we know them are wrong. Quantum entanglement shows - two particles - can be billions of kilometers apart. And yet do exactly the same thing at exactly the same time. Our concept of time is how long it takes the earth to rotate during 24 hours. And time is not the same anywhere on earth. Such as Australia - has six time zones. And we try to measure everything - on our concept of time. Really only suits what we know on earth. And that time does exist - just not as we know it - anywhere else in the universe. Eric Weinstein says - time could exist - as other dimensions. Such as 4 left field dimensions - 4 right field dimensions - on top of the three we see. Or time exists as a circle. You can go forward - or go back in time like in a circle - even before something happens. Is also how UAP's are viewed. Faster then light travel - is also another point science says - nothing can travel faster then the speed of light. However - quantum computers - may well see - other dimensions we can't see. And drag information from those places - when asked to solve a problem. The issue of quantum computing seems to be focused on Artificial Intelligence. When the smart science will be to ask a quantum computer - to solve faster then light travel - or how many other dimensions exist. And if a quantum computer brings backs information - we can't see. That is when science - will be challenged. It's more likely quantum computers - will be asked to look for other dimensions. And bring back information from those dimensions - so we can see them. That is the more likely use of quantum computers. As that information - opens up - so many advantages - for a country no-one else has. Opens the possibilities - to have a huge advantage - over other countries. On how to travel faster then light. Or use time dimensions - like portals. That's when science will have proof - other dimensions exist. Gravity and time distort our view of science. They don't fit any other model - but how the earth operates. And they are the best answers we can give to explain them.
