With its Artemis program, NASA wants to relaunch the conquest of space and hopes to bring humans back to the Moon by 2025-2026. It also aims to create a new space station in orbit around the Moon called "Lunar Gateway". For this new mission, NASA has called on the private company Space X owned by billionaire Elon Musk to build the HLS: "Human Landing System", a variant of the Starship launcher.
But that's not all, NASA is also banking on 3D printing to build its future lunar base, in partnership with the American company ICON. The Olympus project, as it is called, should start its first tests in 2026.
On the energy side, both NASA and the British space agency are betting on nuclear energy and are thinking of putting mini power plants on the moon for the needs of future explorers.
Finally, we will finish this video on the projects of Martian conquest like the one of Elon Musk who envisages a colonization of the red planet by 2050. An architecture agency called Abiboo has even designed the plans for a Martian city called Nuwa, which could be home to nearly 250,000 people by 2054.
An appetite for space conquest that seems to spread to the rest of the world and that we will have to follow with interest because it raises many questions such as the problem of waste in space or CO2 emissions at a time of increasing tests and launches.
