NASA Scientists WARN Boeing Starliner Is Going To Be The Next Apollo 13!
Of all the places you never want to be stranded, space definitely takes the top spot.
Unfortunately, that’s a reality NASA astronauts Barry Wilmore and Suni Williams now face aboard the Boeing Starliner.
What was supposed to be an 8-day trip to the ISS and back has turned into a month-long survival challenge for the crew, thanks to five helium leaks, five malfunctioning maneuvering thrusters, and a slow-moving propellant valve in the Boeing capsule.
It turns out NASA and Boeing officials were aware of a helium leak, but they didn’t think it would pose a safety risk to the spacecraft.
It’s safe to say their assessment was entirely off, just like it was wrong 50 years ago when NASA launched Apollo 13 with a damaged, liquid oxygen tank on board.
They intentionally installed a ticking bomb which exploded on April 13, 1970- 200,000 miles from Earth.
Luckily, the Apollo 13 astronauts made it back home against all odds but will the same happen for the Boeing crew?
Here are the chilling details NASA has revealed about the Boeing Starliner disaster!

That is one of two reasons the situation with Starliner is not as urgent as Appollo 13. The two astronauts are at the ISS they have food and oxygen is more than enough. If the ruling comes out that it's too risky to for them to get in the Starliner and return home that way. They can sent the capsule down on auto and have SpaceX send up a capsule to take them home, when they bring up extra supplies for the station. The SpaceX capsule will still be more comfortable than starliner.

As someone who has worked in space one thing you can be sure of is that if something fails and that part is used elsewhere, like valves thrusters and one fails for whatever reason, its bound to fail in other areas. My experience is that when developed through computer testing you need a computer with greater precision.

Any truth to rumors that because of sanctions, NASA could not get titanium valves from Russia or China, and it outsourced the procurement of titanium valve to India and the latter delivered aluminum valves instead? If so, why didn’t Boeing inspect such valves before installing them on the Starliner?

Why NASA management gave the StarLiner contract to Boeing is a mystery. Boeing's ineptitude is on full display. NASA should cancel the StarLiner contract. It seems that technically, Boeing is out to lunch and apt to stay there. Awarding this contract to Boeing has over tones when NASA management overruled technicians about environmental effects on O-rings and allowed Challenger to launch.

It's not like they are on a trip to the moon. They can stay on ISS indefinitely. Question is in what vehicle will the crew ride down on. Afterwards, there will be an investigation regarding cover stories fed to the Public to protect Boeing like the unplanned support for a spacewalk that was then cancelled for suit discomfort. Longer Starliner is in orbit, the more helium it loses.

NASA should return the astronauts with SpaceX. Return the Starliner empty while still undertaking tests and running the checks needed to remedy for future missions. It is not a loss for NASA and the return of the astronauts with SpaceX is a win for humanity. Boeing, IMO is taking expensive short cuts with its construction and designs. It does this with its air craft, so it is not a fantasy to think they are not doing it with Starliner. Are they going to do so with human lives ?
