There's no need to for two companys with the same goal and passion to compete against each other . So the fact that nasa and space x work together is amazing. They both have the same goal and supporting each other is key . Plus working together is great for business because if one company falls short there's always a helping hand . Good on space x and nasa for working together and supporting each other .

I don’t know why people dislike him so much. If you can do better, do better. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t sit around and wait to be told what he can and can’t do by the media. Elon does things because they are hard, not because they are easy. And true, he doesn’t always have the answer just like NASA in the beginning. They had to create brand new math. NASA : Rocket Can't Be Re use SpaceX : Hold My Beer
@willoughbykrenzteinburg
@willoughbykrenzteinburg 3 года назад
NASA doesn't say that. For starters, NASA doesn't build rockets. NASA didn't build the SLS or the Saturn V anymore than they have built the Falcon 9, Falcon Heavy, or Starship. In other words, thinking NASA built the Saturn V is no different than thinking NASA built the Falcon 9 simply because they contracted the engineering and development of those rockets out to aeronautics/aviation companies. That's always been what NASA does, so NASA does indeed reuse rockets - because they contract SpaceX for various missions. Though it is worth considering that SpaceX did not get contracted to engineer and develop the Falcon 9 for NASA; NASA just paid them to use their Falcon 9 for various missions.

I see so many nasa vs spacex comparisons. The fact however is that nasa does not build rockets, but is just a customer to many space companies such as spacex. The opposite is far more accurate. The only thing we know about the development of SpaceX's rockets is from photographs people have taken with telephoto lenses from afar. People have to guess what this or that gizmo is for - and every now and then Elon will Tweet out something - but there is no mechanism through which SpaceX communicates to the public what they are up to. That's fine - they are a private company and have every right to not have a P.R. department. NASA on the other hand - very much has a public relations department, and media have offices at various NASA facilities for them to view and report on the goings on there.

Compare a government agency to a government agency, e.g. NASA vs JAXA, or a private company to another private company, e.g. Space X vs ULA. This is an unfair comparison. Dislike!
