Nascar could get rid of stage racing, go back to old Winston Cup points format, 900 plus HP and STILL complain.

Finally a NASCAR gimmick that is actually a fun idea! Also is everyone forgetting the Sprint Summer Showdown, which was a great idea until Paul Menard and Marcos Ambrose spoiled the party and it basically became Brad vs Kyle for the whole thing?

People don't like change, that's the main point. Did not know about the Noble 5, and I like the concept. Will it replace the All-Star race? Don't know. It's an interesting concept and I want to see what they develop out of this. People need to grow up. I've been watching NASCAR since 2009 and have seen the sport evolve since then. Some changes I've questioned, like stage racing, but they spice things up. Change avoids the sport becoming boring in the end.

Honestly it's starting to drive me insane how it seems like in both NASCAR and F1 circles being a fan feels more like just hating on and complaining about the sport you report to love rather than actually liking it

The South Park theme killed me 🤣1000% accurate. I see no problem with the mid-season tournament. Honestly I think some of the people complaining just hate Hamlin, so anything good he does, they hate. That’s coming from a Hamlin hater. I love his idea though. It spices up a typically bland time of the year and might make some racing more interesting. I see no negatives to it. If you stop watching because of that tournament, we never wanted you in the sport to begin with.

You’re going to have the older generational fans pissed because they normally don’t use new age tech and tolerate cable. You can’t strip them of their right to be irritated because they aren’t tech savvy. I don’t have Amazon Prime so I’ll do what I normally do and just listen to it on the radio, for free, while I’m out working in my shop.

Honestly anytime a network or sponsor can add value to the sport. I see it as a win. The teams are already not profitable; to help them and the sport grow, I welcome more of these things. I'm all for change if it does nothing but good things for NASCAR. Crying and whining does no good, for instance, even though I hate the current playoff format, I'm still a fan, and I'll still watch the playoffs. If we give it a chance before shooting it down, we might be grateful we kept an open mind. If viewership skyrocket's, that's a definite win for all of us. This could very well bring some very notable sponsors back to the sport that we absolutely need.

Any thing new or different, and the "core" nascar fan base scream. Toyota comes in, they scream. Internet streaming, they scream. Black drivers or women drivers, they scream. I go to a race wearing Pride merch in Phoenix, and they scream (and try to get me kicked out, which made me laugh.) Honestly, its just funny at this point.

The only reason I ever made a Twitter account was to follow the Nascar Drivers. I quickly became tired of all the complaining from the "fans". A lot of people who whine just need to tie bricks to their feet and go swim in the ocean. Nice video. Thanks for sharing!

The problem *isn't* this idea itself; It's the fact NASCAR continues to ignore it's *actual* problems while creating new ones with gimmicks literally nobody asked for.

As a dirt late model guy, it gives me Summer Nationals vibes. A mid summer championship inside a championship. And if you're not familiar, drivers and fans LOVE Summer Nationals!

I agree with you, there are legit things to complain about. This is not one of them. It’s just for money it affects nothing on the racetrack. Give it a chance. I would be shocked if you don’t know who your favorite driver is up against that week and you pay attention to that.

BFM, I agree: NASCAR fans need to (a) calm the f down and (b) at least give the concept a chance. I still remember Winston's No Bull 5 and that was pretty good - it didn't affect the points system and it added an incentive to try and win races. The reason I think everyone BMW's (bitch-whine-moan) about NASCAR is that, after Matt Kenseth whooped the field to hell and back in 2003 despite winning what, one solitary race, they changed the points system (which I thought at the beginning was dumb, nowadays as long as the racing's good, I'm like "meh!"). Sports change over time - not everything can be as cut and dried as English Premier League soccer and its' "most points win, period" mantra (and if you think NASCAR fans can be whiny as hell at times, go propose anything U.S. sports related to EPL fans...and watch the fireworks go off in response!).

I always think that I'm a curmudgeony purist about NASCAR, but the fans make me look like a dang progressive when it comes to what they complain about.

The in season tournament and streaming services add ons are the best add ons this sport has seen in years but people are just terrible they will complain about everything and cry and cry but thats just what they do they are never happy about anything they just conplain, whine, and cry. Now what NASCAR needs to do and i understand why people complain about this, NASCAR needs to fix the damn Next Gen Car.

I agree to many snowflakes have joined in on NASCAR fans & thanks to them almost end it back around 2010, when they got NASCAR to ban rubbing, bumping & that stuff that makes it worth watching, because it was to violent & dangerous for them to watch. they also brought about the cooky cutter cars, because it's unfair that someone else built a better car & therefore had a unfair advantage. Now they are trying to have NASCAR go EV like formula 1 did a few yrs back, save the planet crap. NASCAR fans freaking out over this isn't surprising given the fact they thought the world was ending over the position of the numbers changing on the doors. God help us if honda gets their way and uses a twin turbo V6 instead of the standard pushrod v8 and NASCAR introduces BOP.

I think the short track racing is fine. The rules keeping the drivers from having real personalities is the problem.

I mean this without directly wishing any ill will onto anyone, but I feel like the fanbase will be so much better when the older “NASCAR died with Dale” and the “I remember the good ol’ 70s real racing” crowd die out. Much more the former than the latter, but they are both easily the two biggest black eyes tugging the fanbase down

I don't mind them trying things. I think it is a cool idea. The season has been basically no one cares about the middle races. So it gives a little boost to those races that they desperately need. And if we are never getting rid of the playoff system. We need to create more of these things to help with the drivers having an incentive to win outside of just making playoffs. In fact I would like to see more of these type of things. (or get rid of the playoffs and get back to a strictly points based system again)

The problem with the comparison to the Winston Million or the Winston No Bull 5 is the aspects of the 2 concepts essentially being a challenge spread throughout the season. It was taken as a challenge every so often. This bracket thing however, is a gimmick for only a tiny part of the season. It's not as similar to the Winston Million or the Winston No Bull 5 as you tried to make it out to be. Really the bracket thing is nothing more than an extended Dash-4-Cash, but with 8x the drivers. If that's the case & it's for a million dollars, let me ask a counter-question: Wouldn't this render the All-Star race worthless then? Wouldn't this relegate the All-Star race from its own unique event to just another gimmick? There'd be no point to it with this bracket thing... Think about that.

I love this idea. I'm a huge sports fan. This bracket idea is the playoff format in the NBA NHL MLB. I'm gonna do my own bracket against my husband, Loser, buys dinner.

As it's own thing going on during the season, this would be pretty fun. It's not really gimmick since it's not some sneak to the championship. Personally, i would like to see a true points system, but i would still take this with it. In a way it would give you a "best of both worlds."

Some NASCAR fans will ALWAYS find reasons to complain about the most microscopic things. Personally, I love this tournament bracket they're doing. I have fond memories of the Winston No Bull 5 program and this feels quite similar to it. It will make the 2025 summer races even more enjoyable in my eyes. I love it!

I would be freaking mad if this was implemented as a way to determine a champion. But as it's kind of a bonus, racing for money while still getting normal points etc it's really ok

I wonder if the Nascar on Amazon people realize that most other series use internet. Nascar is the only series that shows post race on tv. (Indy Car has 2 racez air exclusively on Peacock, F1 post race coverage is on an app, Nascars foreign series broadcast on internet, other than Daytona, ARCA broadcasts races on a website along with nascars feeder series, and other world racing series.

The only thing I’m mildly annoyed by is NASCAR is putting certain races solely on prime because I live in a rural area and have satellite internet and my connection isn’t strong enough to stream a long sporting event without endless buffering. BUT I don’t begrudge NASCAR for doing this because the sport will be on a platform with many many more people to reach out to. I’ll just listen to the broadcast on Sirius XM and if the races sounds entertaining I’ll watch it the next day at the gym (with its free WiFi) on the treadmill. It’s just sports, not exactly a topic to get scolding mad about. Like Darian said and he’s right; There bigger things to get mad about like the Next Gen car. A in season tourney is the farthest thing to get upset about. I have to remember this is the same toxic fan base that threw a fit when they changed the positioning of the numbers on the cars.

Sounds like something fun for the fans to watch, Guessing some old guy just heard that it was the bracket was going to be the new "playoff thing". For some extra cash for whichever team, Love the concept plus maybe itll bring eyes to the drivers who are always midfield that Fox ignores (minus if they raced in another big series like F1 or V8 Supercars). I hope that this will help smaller teams like Kaulig get more eyes on them.

I do disagree about streaming. I think regular weeky sports should be left on main cable channels. I understand you're argument, but they shouldnt be only strraming. Maye NBC, FOX, whoever can do some streaming, but Amazon or a only streaming service should not. Just my opinion

I think the new bracket is an interesting idea in my opinion but those who are trashing it before even seeing it are simply just complaining to complain. These "fans" complain about everything including Dale Earnhardt when he was still alive. However, I do understand some of the concerns with the Coke 600 moving to Prime because it has been on OTA TV since 2001; but tbh, most NASCAR fans probably already have Amazon Prime because how big it is but very few take advantage of Prime Video. If you already have Amazon Prime, you don't need to pay anything extra because it is included with your subscription (unlike Amazon Music). As for the "fans with no internet" argument, there are very few areas in the US that have no internet and the people that don't have internet in their home probably know ways to get internet access whether if it is at a fast food restaurant like McDonalds, a coffee shop, a school, or a public library. This is from the perspective from someone that lives in Southwestern Virginia who knows peers who don't have internet in their home but know where to get it.

I mean, like... I don't exactly get how this works, considering it's not one on one matches, but a one on all. They could both be dunked out by things outside of their control, and then say, whoever was further ahead during a caution that took out both cars for the remainder is the one that moves on. In fact that's not a rare thing in NASCAR, it happens all the time. I'm just going to sit back and watch, because either way this going to cause chaos and that's basically what I wait for outside of the last stage of a race.

I really don't get what people are having meltdowns over. It's just a fun side quest for a couple races. It sounds like a neat little addition. And as Darian pointed out, it's not like they've not done this kind of thing before. Some folks need to learn to have a bit more fun, for real.
