If there's one actor I admire other than Irfaan is Naseer. What a legend. Outspoken and outshines in every performance no matter how small the length of his role is. In zindagi na mile dobara he left an impact despite being on screen for mere 10 minutes.
I had the fortune to watch him and his wife in a play in 2015. Man, such a small petite man owning the stage and his arresting presence -- its unbelievable. Dont know if he still does theater though. Probably not due to age.

@Rick and Korbin, Naseeruddin Shah mentioned Dr Shreeram Lagoo as one of the best actors. Dr Lagoo is the original actor who helmed the titular role in the stage play, Natsamrat (whose movie version you reviewed, starring Nana Patekar). But from a film perspective, one of Dr Lagoo's best films is Pinjara (The Cage) directed by V Shantaram (another legend of Indian cinema), its a Marathi film that released in 1972. Its a must watch if you get a version with subtitles.

It's true that he has spoken of a heap of controversial things throughout his life. But you can't steer clear of his acting. He's one of the finest actors in the history of Indian cinema.
Controversial it may be but he's the only actor in bollywood who has the guts to speak the truth. When he said Rajesh Khanna was overhyped and mediocre actor, I was 👏. Why couldnt Indians figure that out!!
He also graduate from FTII ( India's biggest film school) after nsd and he said that time ftii was producing stars either you have hero potential or villian potential or comedian potential and they thaught he doesn't have the specific things like Dharmendra as hero ,he doesn't have personality like amrish puri ,Prem Chopra to be villian or a unique kind of comedy style but he actually one of the actors who lived all the roles, department of leading man, supporting actor ,hero character,comedian ,villian
It's actually shocking to me that you haven't watched anything full fledged starring Naseer, the greatest actor in Indian cinema (Irrfan comes next after him).
I have the same problem as well, I would love to watch his earlier works especially his works with Om Puri but as I am not indian nor fully understand the language I can't find any movie that is subtitled or even dubbed

He excelled in all kind of roles be it comedy , tragedy , intense drama . Paradox is he always played the characters much older than his age , but he himself could not even lived until 50 . Jihadi Naseer was always an average actor. He despised all great main-stream actors like Rajesh Khanna and Bachhan. He tried many main-stream films and failed miserably. His only skill was his Urdu diction.
