Nash County Co-Responder Procedure 

This five minute video is an mock Call For Service of a Nash County Sheriff’s Office Deputy (Sergeant Anna Hernandez) responding to a scene where a homeless person is having a non-violent mental health episode and is in need of assistance.
The Deputy obtains basic information from the individual and calls the Nash County Co-Responder Social Worker to request support. The Nash County Co-Responder Social Worker responds to the scene , obtains consent from the individual and connects the individual with a variety of local resources.
Depending on the behavior of the individual and surrounding circumstances, the Deputy can remain on the scene for the arrival of the Nash County Co-Responder Social Worker or can opt clear the scene if there are no safety concerns at the scene. Each response will dictate if the deputy remains on-scene or not.
