This is legit one of my favorite moments in television. That melody is so perfect and haunting it leaves me speechless. The performance by Connie Britton and Charles Esten is immaculate.
I was so glued to the television it was like I was in another world. This was the most beautiful moment I have ever witnessed on TV. I met Chip at a concert, where I did the "Meet and Greet." He spent 30 minutes talking to us and taking pictures with us. His wife, Patti was there and they were just precious together. I was so hoping he would sing this song with a back up singer or someone. Maybe next time.
Although Juliette is devastated, even she can see the chemistry between Rayna & Deacon and she is a fan herself as we see her subtly mouthing the words along with them as they sing. Good reactions by Hayden Panettiere
I liked Nashville from the start, but this is the first song to grab me, on a professional level. All those emotions. Connie and Charles nail that heartache. And for the topping, unhappy Hayden is reading the smoke signals from these sparks! And it's always good to see JD Souther. Wish they would have kept him. He gave the show some needed gravitas. And we get to see where Scarlett and Gunnar jump in.
This song is written by John Paul White of the Civil Wars- same band that wrote "If I didn't know better", the first song Gunnar and Scarlett sang together on the show.
LOVE this song..."I know you're trying to move on with your life and Im trying to move on with mine...but...I love you. And that's just never not been true."
This song and “I know how to love you now” are my top favorite of the entire show. The emotions Connie & Chip put into these songs on top of their already beautiful on screen chemistry…I don’t even have words. It’s just simply amazing and pure magic!!!
did this ever make it to top charts on public radio? I feel like this song as well as a few others from this first season are just impeccable country writing. We need more of this in U.S. right now...chesney whatever bs...this harkens back to true country. I just love it. who is writing like this these days? I see in comments below same person wrote If I didn't know Better.... sheer talent.
This is a very fabulous song n it's true when u separate from someone that you have been with for a long time. They do eventually realize that no one will ever love them the way you did so true
I dedicate this song to my husband Bruce King. I love ❤️ you so very much your sweet and loving wife Amber King. May our love ❤️ go on through the ages. I will love ❤️ you forever and always.
It’s crazy that after not hearing this song for 10’years, I can wake with it on my mind like I heard it last night There are some solid classics on this show
I thought they hit some real good songs with the guy that played the gay actor Chris I think his real name is? But yeah show definitely focused mor and more on drama less on beautiful music as it went
Lyrics Rayne: “ Don’t you try to tell me Someone is waitin They’re not waitin For you Oh, and don’t you try to tell me That you’re wanted That you’re needed ‘Cause it’s not true I know why you’re lonely It’s time you knew it too No one will ever love you No one will ever love you Like I do Deacon: Why are you always lookin for the limelight Ain’t you satisfied with me Oh, for once why don’t you get down off your high heels You’re no big deal Can’t you see Together: I know why you’re lonely It’s time you knew it too No one will ever love you No one will ever love you No one will ever love you Like I do Rayne: I’m all you got Deacon: I’m all you ever need Together: I’m all you’ll have No one will ever love you No one will ever love you No one will ever love you Like I do Like I do Like I do
He is a big time producer that wanted the young couple to record a couple of songs. He is encouraging them that they could be like Reyna and Deacon at some point. That is why she tells her friend, Okay, let's do it. She was afraid at first, to record.
