What is not discussed is how to tell you are in the Windpipe/Lungs instead of the esophagus/ stomach. (Load up the Lungs with Oil, that will kill the Horse) Besides listening, get a blow of air into your ear versus a slight 'sizzling' sound from a acidic stomach, measure and MARK your tube to the length where the stomach would be. ( More tube than windpipe) Also, it is easier to actually see the tube slide down the esophagus if the tube has a larger diameter.
