Not that I could ever do any of this, but I feel her routines are full of twists and go forward. Doesn’t seem as hard as the other competitors of that era. She is, though the most graceful.
Anyone care to watch Aisher Gerber’s floor routine from this meet and come back to comment? Nastia’s tumbling lines didn’t appear as difficult. Perhaps she had cleaner lines in execution, but Aisha also has clean lines. Any thoughts on the big score difference?
It was obviously a bit underrotated. In those situations, the judges determine if the underrotation was enough to downgrade the skill, or if the gymnast still got it around enough to credit the skill but take execution deductions. Here they determined Nastia completed the 2.5 enough to credit it, but deducted for the execution of it.
