My son had a soldier like this. He refused to shower or wear deodorant. The whole platoon was complaining. My son had to go to his barracks everyday after PT to sit and make sure he showered and had to coach him to put on deodorant. After 18 months he finally got kicked out of the Army for it. It's in his discharge papers and article 15 that he wouldn't shower lol
As a former teacher, kids like the one in the video have made me vomit from the smell. I had a principal who thought I was being dramatic until one of the stinky kids sat in his office . He began to dry heave from the aroma.
How do you know they were like the one in the video? Maybe they were struggling financially and couldn't afford to shower. The school should have offered hygiene products. My school did and it helped out one of my friends. It also could be possible neglect from the parents who just choose to spend their money on other things instead. Another it could be is mental health and you could offer counseling. If they were like the kid in the video, I also think recommending counseling could be best. I hoped you DID actually look more into this case with the kids, if not I hope you can in the future. Coming from a teacher myself, you don't know what goes on behind closed doors.
I know some people struggle from B.O. who actually can't help it. But if that is the case then I believe that the school should also help with providing a shower to those who need it. Not everyone is as delusional as the person in this video. I felt so bad for a classmate of mine who's family had their water shut off. I wanted so badly to help but didn't know how all those years ago when I was just a kid.
He don't have no idea how privileged is to have a private bathroom to use, where you can shower by yourself and just how shower makes a difference in your life, it makes you feel human again. Right now Im homeless leaving in a women's shelter with another 100 plus women,with only 5 showers installs to use. You have no privacy and you can't take more than 10 minutes showers and you are surrounded with a crowd of women squeezing in a tight space all times. I remember when I first arrived at the shelter has been weeks I was without a shower, and when the warm water finally hit my skin, I cried with joy. It was such a comforting feeling to shower, to be clean, to be fresh, it truly made me feel being human again. So don't take simple things like showers and warm cups of coffee, a couch to sit in, those little things that we take for granted it is PRICELESS to someone that can't. EDIT : First I want to thank all the kind and heartwarming wishes, much appreciated! Second even though I'm still homeless and living in the shelter, I have been taking action to get out of here. I tried to find a "silver lining" and remained positive, so I decided that instead stay all day long idle either in bed or watching TV in the shelter, I decided to finally pursue my college degree that I dream to acquired for so long and I'm ace it, also due to my 4.0 GPA I will qualify to get a part time job at the campus next semester and that will be great because they will work with my school schedule so I will work and study. I'm also receiving help for my mental disability and physical disability as well agencies that work with victims of sexual and violence harm, while applying for disability( I should be able to get Social Security Benefits because I worked about 15 years now and only became homeless 2 years ago). Those agencies are helping me find permanent and stable housing and hopefully by December of 2024 I will not longer be homeless, so please continue to keep me in your positive thoughts/prayers/wishes/vibes.

Let's be real... He hasn't washed that hair over two months. I could go two weeks without greasing my roots. This guy doesn't bother with boar bristle brushing and using wooden combs. You can clean the hair between washes using "dry shampoo" methods. That guy is just lazy and gross.
Fr! My hair and body get super itchy and dandruffy. I even look grodier if I’m not super fresh. It’s strange how you can tell a person hasn’t washed by how they look. They just look kinda paler like a corpse

I remember a high school classmate giving her thoughts on a boy to me and she praised him highly for his clean shoes. clearly he was someone who cleaned his shoes often and that exceptional level of neatness and cleanliness won him some dreamy sighs and eyelash-batting from her. At the time I thought she was focusing on a strange detail, but now I’m older and wiser and can say with certainty she was focusing on exactly the right thing.

What grade is this kid in? I work at a museum and there was a field trip and some 11-13 yo boys were standing next to the front desk and I could smell a strong musty fishy smell and it had a mix of mold in it. I'm pregnant too so the smell was so strong to me. I literally thought someone brought a decaying animal into the museum. After a while the boys left and I was horrified that the smell left with them. How is that not child neglect? I can't imagine a child like that gets away with not being bullied. Please, no matter how much your preteen complains, make them shower and wash themselves!
Omg, I took my daughter out of the bounce place because over age boys, about 11 - 13 years old, came in and literally stunk up the place. Pubescent boys can stink SO bad it's shocking! I have 3 brothers and forgot all about it until then.
Unfortunately some kids just smell more than others. One of my son's friends is quite smelly but his parents make him bathe regularly and use deodorant.

He probably has some form of mental illnes. I have a few friends/family who have schizophrenia and the water triggers them so they will not bathe or use deodorant without yelling and throwing a total fit. Which can be really scary if they're living with you.

When I was 20 I worked in a call center. One of the guys their just didn't shower. Nobody wanted to sit at the desks next to him. It was super awkward and this guy got a very bad reputation because of it. One day our boss gave up and threatened to fire him if he didn't go home to take a shower.

Idk about them but I personally have had a hygiene problem from depression. My whole life in fact. But it’s not something I enjoy or am proud of by any means. To this day I struggle to better. I don’t always succeeded but I’m definitely close at this point. Some days I let depression win. That’s part of my problem.
This is an understandable challenge. And I hope things get better for you. Because I get it. There have been times I’ve stood there staring at the water in the shower just dreading getting wet. This kid though doesn’t seem to be struggling in that way. He seems like he’s choosing not to and rebranding it as pheromone maxxing and using it for content.

i definitelt struggle with this too. i can usually shower but brushing my teeth unless i’m leaving the house is hard. i use this pokemon toothbrush app to motivate myself. 😅 hope we can both do better for our own sakes. ❤ don’t be too hard on yourself.
I once went for a year without cleaning myself. Looking back I was severely depressed. ( Still am) Now I shower all the days I work and stew in my filth the rest of the time. It's hard to be clean when you feel dirty.

My moms shower broke down, and she was Like, you know what, i am going No poo. She was so smelly... I was heartbroken and could not Tell her, because she Had to wait 3 weeks for the workers to repair the water system, and yes, she could have find other ways, but she was too proud and brainwashed herself with it. Thankfully after the workers came, she showered and washed her hair again :-)
